Sassy Creek's Bunny Tales - The Day Has Come: Chapter 18
Young Domestic Girl
Passing by Domestic Animals
Paralee and Bonnie had come by the chickens which was quite sickening and now it was time to go by the pigs.
Pig was not much better. Some of them a little scary in size but Paralee showed her how none of these domestics could escape these penned up sections. She was thankful she was not penned up like this.
Some of the sounds they made sounded like the uncles did sometimes when they were frolicking and wrestling to show who had the most strength. It would be very hard describing these different domestics. Now she could see why it was so funny when the uncles did. You just had to see it to believe it.
“Look Bonnie, there is the young domestic that saved me as a baby.”
Oh, what a giant of a being, Bonnie had never seen! To actually see a human domestic! She coward beside Paralee and kept looking. Fear and amazement filled her.
She must remember all she could to tell Bobby and just for her own memorie's sake. This domestic being walked upright, with loose limber limbs that moved so freely. The only fur she was seen to possess flowed like moss down from her head, blowing out by the breeze. Her face and arms were bare flesh. Bonnie was so mesmerized by this beings appearance that she could not stop looking to follow Paralee as she should be.
“Do not be afraid, she would never hurt you. She is the only domestic that I do trust but there is no doubt she would hurt not a living being. I will not let her see us now because she could delay us and we must hurry!”
Chicken Eggs
Bonnies' Fear of Human Girl
“You are so brave to feel no fear of this horrible being Paralee.”
“She is not horrible to me. I am quite use to her looks and the others as well. You get use to what you see from a young age, but I can imagine your first impression.” She chuckled.
“There is a freedom and power in these beings that I envy. After awhile you get accustomed to their ugliness, so it does not seem so shocking to look upon.”
Bonnie forgot for awhile that none of this was new to Paralee. She had many years to get familiar with all these fantastic and scary beings that she, herself, had just today learned existed. Her heart beat so fast with the excitement. She would have to calm down and give it all much thought later. She would want to remember every little detail!
Bobby must one day come see all this too, she wanted that so bad. If she could do it, he could too. She knew he would not be sorry and there was no explaining all she had seen to let him picture it as it really was.
“We are almost to Cat’s nest now,” Paralee slowed in front of her, "I will go first at the far end and look under to make sure. If I start running back you turn and run too, the same way we came. Fast as you can!"
Making a Lot of Fuss
Taking No Chances
Bonnie so hoped everything would go alright now. She had gotten all the way to this point. It had been such a wonderful day so far, even if a little frightening.
Seeing all the new animals, the domestic, and nearly falling in the creek. This was excitement and more thrilling than even a race. She never thought to ever think such a thing.
There was the face of Paralee, so off she went to meet her under the dwelling. It was dusty smelling, like sweet grass. Her stomach growled slightly from the good smell.
“That smell is from up above us in the dwelling, that is what brought me here in the first place, when I found Cat’s babies. We will pull some down through the cracks on our way back out if all goes well. It is very good. Follow me and stay on your guard, always.”
She checked all around them and lifted her nose to help in her search. They had moved almost to the far end of the dwelling. The dirt was packed solid with no grass or protection or place to hide, although the dwelling was over them. They could be plainly seen if an animal entered here.

More Instructions From Paralee
Paralee gave Bonnie instructions in case Cat or any danger showed up now unexpectedly.
"Do not stop until you are over the tree on the water, do you hear me? Look behind you now,do you know where to run?”
She wanted Bonnie to understand how very important these instructions were. Bonnie looked behind her and could see where they had come from, she could not see the creek but she knew where it was. yes. She had been paying attention to that all along and now her glance back confirmed it.
She nodded, “Yes, I will be like lightening if I see you running back, just worry about yourself, not me, please, I will do the right thing.”
“That is what I want to hear, so we can both be safe. Here I go, I will go under the dwelling to make sure Cat is gone and when I look back out you will know it is alright for you to come too.”
Not What Bonnie Expected
Bonnie moved away just a few inches so she could watch them and they could choose to get nearher or not.
They definitely did like Paralee, and what would their mother think of that!
One seemed to be trying to nurse. It was hard to concentrate on one. They were everywhere playing all over her friend and certainly had no fear of her. She looked at their feet as closely as she could with all the action they were making but they looked only soft and cushiony, maybe more so than a rabbits.
Her heart sank! What was this? This was no answer to how Cat climbs trees. Was it? Paralee had promised it was!

Better Than a Race

Cat Babies Playing
Cat Babies
Just ahead Bonnie saw furry still balls, not very large at all and a variety of colors. Paralee leaned over and nuzzled these balls and they came alive.
They wiggled and stretched and were at least twice the size they had at first appeared and were not a ball at all. Paralee lay down beside them and they were all over her, rubbing their faces on hers and climbing her body. This looked just like a mother rabbit with her babies, but these Cat babies were more limber and agile.
“Come on Bonnie, lay down here and get to know them.”
Bonnie moved up and lay down beside Paralee. One took notice of her and spit and hissed.
“Well how smart, they must notice you are new or different to them, that is how they did me even before their eyes opened, but they soon got use to me and stopped.”
