My name is Maurice Bishop and I am the 3 Time Greater Philadelphia Chess Champion. 5-0 at the National Chess Congress and I came in 2nd place at the Phoenix Rising Chess Tournament.
I am a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and been enlisted for 13 years. My military position takes a lot of my time which is the reason why I don’t play in a lot of USCF tournaments. However, I am active student of the game and I study and analyze my games practically everyday. I am also an active chess player on Lichess.org in which I’m rated 2200 for bullet chess games and 2302 for 3 minute chess games.
I defeated many strong players and title players online with sharp gambit openings that I also use in tournaments and will continue to use.
If you are a chess fan and love the game as much as I do and want to better your playing skills then you came to the right place.
I will show you easy to remember sharp openings I play and how to play it.
I will teach you how to win in bullet chess games.
I will show you the chess books I read.
I will show you the chess software I use to analyze my games.
I will continue to post many chess puzzles to increase your skills; such as tactics, positional and endgame puzzles.
I will post my favorite chess games of all time and I will practically share with you everything that I know about chess and much much more.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to write to me at lifeisagameofchess32@gmail.com
Also I have a facebook group page called “Life is a game of chess” and I have over 1600 chess fans in that group.
I hope you enjoy!

Many chess players stay 1200 to 1600 rating points for years and never surpass that. They can read a hundred chess books, play a thousand chess games online and still not improve. Why is that? The average chess player does not have a solid study plan and training the wrong way. Here how to improve.

Thousands and thousands of chess players play chess in clubs, city parks and online. Many amateurs to even professional chess players play 1 minute to 5 minute blitz games but can anyone really improve their chess skills if you consistently play bullet and blitz games?
