Wickford Village, Rhode Island
Exploring new places can be great fun especially when it's something a little different. When I find something interesting, I love to share
Wickford Village On Narragansett Bay, RI
Historic Wickford Village has all the classic historic buildings you would expect to find in a cute little village, plus much much more.
Beautiful boutique shops line the streets of the village for your browsing pleasure. In between the buildings catch a glimpse of the boats moored in Narragansett Bay.
It is so shopper friendly, at least 50 percent of the shops have benches in front of them so you may rest your weary shopper feet. It doesn't hurt that the benches are surrounded by beautiful seasonal flowers. If a small pocket hole park, or a green, is more to your liking there are some of those too. Many shops have little bowls of water out front for your four legged friends.

This Plaque Caught My Eye (Wicked Sense Of Humor)
Almost all the historic houses had plaques on them with the name of the original owner and the year the house was built.
As I walked down the street in Wickford Village, away from the shops, I particularly noticed this plaque.

This is definitely my kind of place! I've never been to Rhode Island but an ancestor was quite a landholder there in the very early settlement days and I've always had a hankering to visit the state - and Wickford Village looks like a village out of time, very charming!
