Sarasota, Florida Vacation

I like to take pictures and make videos of our family vacations and share them.

For our 17th wedding anniversary we decided to spend it in Sarasota. We had a wonderful time. Lido Key beach is beautiful the sunset is amazing as you can see in the photo above.

We stayed at Hotel Ranola. We spend a day at the beach with pitcher of homemade sangria and watched the sunset.

We also visited the Ca' d'Zan Mansion, the Ringling Circus Museum and the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art. It was a fantastic vacation.

This was such an awesome hotel. When we go back we will definitely stay here again. The hotel is small, only has 9 rooms. Each room has a full kitchen, a sitting area, a vanity, hardwood floors and funky, modern décor. It's wild but also warm, cozy and comfortable. I have more images of the room in my video of our trip.

The Ringling Circus Museum

At the Ringling Circus Museum they have everything from the costumes that they wore to the musical instruments that they played. I love the craftsmanship in the costumes, the wagons and the miniature circus is incredible.

The museum overall is very colorful and fun. I would recommend checking it out if you are in the Sarasota area.

The World's Largest Miniature Circus

They have a huge, miniature circus in the museum. It is filled with tiny little people and tiny little animals. Just a crazy amount of detail. It is also animatronic, so it turns on and off with all the bells and whistles.

I did get video of it, but it didn't come out very well. I did however, find a story by the AP on YouTube. It shows some of the circus in motion. I added the video to this page. You can find it below my photos. I have also provided a link the their website for further details.

Ca' d'Zan Mansion

Before you go into the mansion, the outside landscape is gorgeous. There are beautiful banyan trees and a rose garden with statues throughout the garden.

Statues

This place was amazing. Borrowing a phrase form my kids, I would say: "John and Mable were a bit extra". Really there are no words. The artwork on the ceilings, the stained glass windows. Just beautiful. Below are some photos that I took when we visited but they do not do it justice. I found a video tour on YouTube, you can find it below my photos.

Inside the Mansion

I think this was the main living room, I cant remember, there were so many rooms.

John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art

We also went to the John and Mable Ringling Museum of art. I didn't take any pictures inside because I was looking at all of the artwork. But I did take lots of pictures outside. Just like the other beautiful structures and landscapes, it was stunning.

There are tons of statues, the only problem is most of them are nude, so I didn't put them directly in this article. I do have them in my video though. If you want to see more of the architecture and landscapes you can find them there. Below is a link to the museum's website.
