Buddha once said, “If we could see the miracle of a single flower, clearly our whole life would change.”

But what if you would see a miracle in, not one but tens of thousands of flowers like in the recently-concluded Yanbu Flowers Festival 2019?

Organized by the Royal Commission of Landscaping and Irrigation Department, the spectacular flowers show drew tens of thousands of visitors from across the Kingdom. It was held at the Events Garden, Yanbu Industrial City at a gigantic size of 10,712.75 square meters.

This two-time record holder as the largest flower carpet in the world by Guinness Book of Records, is definitely a must-see when visiting the Kingdom during the spring.

We were able to visit on its third week and the magnificent entrance to the festival garden was already a preview of what was inside.

And it did not disappoint.

As a first-time visitor to the festival, I was treated with a stunning visual spectacle! The captivating carpet of thousands; if not, millions of colorful flowers sparked joy in my heart and I believe in everyone’s heart, too. Every single person I saw, as I wandered in the humongous garden, was smiling! Flowers are really one of nature’s greatest gifts.

“Flowers don’t tell, they show,” says Stephanie Skeem so I am showing here more photos to satisfy your visual indulgence and appreciate the flowers’ extraordinary beauty and mystery.

There are two entrances to the venue. This photo above is the Gate 1. The grand entance, with Islamic architectural design,is huge enough to allow a steady flow of the visitors coming in and out of the garden. The lighting effect is equally magnificent as it is constantly changing colors adding to the joyful mood.

Visitors can take the most beautiful panoramic photos of the numerous flower hills from the flower balcony and the magnificent landscape can be seen in this multicolored rug. Likewise, they can also ride a mini tram for a minimal cost of SR 20 to take stunning photos of the garden in every angle along the multiple pathways.

This annual spectacular show should be in your bucket list. Kudos to all the hands who put this together. The evidence is loud and clear.

Take time to smell the flowers, so to speak. And as Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Flowers are a proud assertion that a ray of beauty out values all the utilities in the world."

I agree no less.
