Zoo- An 'avial' of Species!

'Avial' is a south Indian vegetarian dish consisting of wide variety of vegetables in a single dish. A zoo is a place where we experience animals and birds from a variety of places or habitat around the globe. Maintaining a zoo is not at all an easy task. We could observe a lot of animals and birds, but sharing pics of few among them. More than just a collection of animals, the authorities has tried their best to provide suitable habitat for each group. Noted animals I couldn't see here are Giraffe, Zebra, sheep, Rhinoceros. This place is like a forest and expands up to acres of land. Animals/ birds are caged here. It was a bit hard for me to see those animals caged. I wish at some point of time, if the zoo could expand and animals could roam around in a large space and humans were visiting them in a caged van or something; it would be better. Visitors are not allowed to feed the 'inhabitants'. An aquarium, snake park, butterfly park are part of the Zoo.

Veli Tourist Village- A Confluence of Veli Lake and Arabian Sea

Veli is a notable tourist attraction in the capital city. The major attraction here is the meeting of Veli lake and Arabian sea. Mostly local people visit this place. Best time to visit Veli is the evening time. It is mostly crowded during the evening. People usually spend an hour here. A beautiful sculpture of Seashell is an attraction. Indian railways miniature train is operating here as part of tourism. This tourist village is not the best tourist place in town, but as an easily accessible beach , it is a fairly good place to chill and spend time. The entry fee for an adult is INR 20.

Shankumugham Beach- A Paradise for Beach Lovers!

Shankumugham Beach is one of the best beaches in Trivandrum and is a major tourist attraction. This beach is located on the coast of Arabian Sea. To add beauty to the place, a beautiful sculpture of 'Sagarakanyaka' and a non-functioning helicopter is installed here. Shankumugham beach is also on the coast of Arabian sea. This is one of the top three beach attractions in Trivandrum. The construction of a diaphragm wall has been stalled and the beach is not open for public now. Though the beach is not open to public, this place is witnessing a lot of local tourists. 'Sagarakanyaka' and the helicopter Mi-8 (Indian Air Force's 45 year old aircraft) are becoming a 'selfie spot' now a days. 'Sagarakanyaka' is 105 ft long and 25 ft high and was completed in 2 years time by sculptor Kanayi Kunjiraman. The sculpture was installed in the year 1992.
