Visit Oveido: Cathedral of San Salvador

The Cathedral of San Salvador is a Gothic Church, an architectural wonder. It is an example of a mix of architectural styles – Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance. It was built between the 14th and 16th centuries.

The altar in the cathedral is beautifully decorated with golden embellishments. There are Gothic cloisters with statues at the side of the Cathedral. The Camara Santa represents Pre-Romanesque art; it has many Christian relics and other works of art.

Another paramount and significant representation is the "Sudarium," a plain cloth with stains on it. This cloth is said to be the cloth that covered the face of Jesus Christ after the crucifixion.

The Cross of Victory is another treasure that is a large gold cross embedded with jewels.
