A Brief Introduction to The Taj Group of Hotels

The Taj Group of Hotels, is a chain of luxury hotels, in India and many other countries of the World. The group operates more than hundred luxury hotels, resorts etc. in India and abroad, in countries such as USA, UK, Malaysia, Bhutan, South Africa, Maldives, Bhutan and many more.
The Taj group of hotels was founded by Shri Jamshedji Tata, in 1903, and the first Taj Mahal Palace hotel was opened, overlooking the magnificent Arabian sea, in Bombay, now called Mumbai. It still remains the most favoured luxury hotel, in Bombay/ Mumbai.

The group has been converting the ancient Royal palaces, into luxury hotels. So, you can find the best Royal hotels, in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Hyderabad, Varanasi and so on.
More than ten hotels of the Taj group hotels, are listed in the leading group of hotels in the World.

Taj Man Singh Hotel, or The Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi:

The Taj Mahal hotel, or popularly called, Taj Man Singh hotel, is situated in the heart of the capital city of India, New Delhi. This Central part of Delhi is also called Lutyens Delhi, as a tribute to the legendary Sir Edwin Lutyens, the chief architect of this part of Delhi.
The iconic Taj Mahal hotel, is known for it’s classic Indian grace, grandeur and charm, blended beautifully with World class amenities, ambiance and comforts.
The location of the hotel adds to it’s reputation, as it’s quite close to the government buildings, and institutions, the diplomatic offices, embassies, commercial hubs, art galleries, heritage institutions, and cultural centres.

The Taj hotel, Delhi is an example of grace, elegance and splendour, where tradition meets modernity, where priceless artefacts, colours and cultural traditions of India are interwoven, to provide the visitors comfortable stay, and an experience of a lifetime.

The entrance looks regal, and the welcoming of the visitors, starts from here only, in the traditional Indian way.

The Lobby, Lounge, Reception area:

A picture tells a thousand words. Please go through the pictures of some parts of the iconic hotel, which I had captured, when I stayed there. This is just to give you an idea of the grandeur and elegance of the lobby/ lounge/ reception area, the luxury rooms, cafe’s, bars, and the restaurants, the parks, gardens and other areas.

One can find comfortable chairs, and sofas, with tables placed all around, wherever you want to sit, in groups or in privacy.
The interiors are well designed and decorated with indoor plants, beautiful art and craft pieces, expansive hand made Indian carpets etc.

Besides the luxury rooms, presidential suites, there are gyms, spas, swimming pools, art galleries, open green spaces, and many more facilities to make the visitor’s stay comfortable, and a memorable experience for a lifetime.

The Fabulous Restaurants inside the Taj Mahal Hotel, Delhi

Machan:

The Machan is a 24x7 eatery, with food choices, ranging from Indian to all kinds of International cuisine.
It is a theme based restaurant. Machan in Hindi means, a platform made on a large tree, in the forest, to watch wildlife animals in their natural habitat.
The walls inside the Machan restaurant are painted to create an atmosphere of the forest, the bamboo sticks are beautifully used for attractive interiors, and clay animal heads to decorate the walls.

House of Ming:

House of Ming is Delhi’s first five star Cantonese and Schezuan speciality restaurant. If you are a Chinese food lover, this is the premier dining destination for you, for the rich Chinese cuisine, in authentic Chinese style.

Varq:

The award winning Varq restaurant, is known for the modern Indian gourmet dining experience, for the artistic presentation of the food, and of course the deliciousness.

As the saying goes, you eat with your eyes first. Add to it, the aroma of the Indian spices, and of course the taste and the ambiance.
The interiors of the Varq, has been done with famous artists, with traditional and modern art forms, oil paintings and sculptures.

Varq, in Hindi means silver foil or sheet.

Emperor Lounge:

The Emperor Lounge is an award winning eatery, with high class teas, coffee brews, and delicious snacks, hand made chocolates, cookies, deserts and so on. In short, you have delicious options for, what is called as finger food.
A preferred place for meetings over tea, coffee or cocktails by executives, foreign dignitaries and others.


The Luxury Rooms

There are around 230 luxurious rooms, including 36 suites, banquet halls etc.

The rooms provide a beautiful view of the Lutyens Delhi, the historic buildings and structures from the French styled windows.

I have had the privilege of staying and dining at the Taj Man Singh hotel, along with my family. Sharing some pictures here.

For some luxurious feel, amazing ambiance, pleasant stay, and great hospitality—

The Taj Man Singh Hotel, Delhi is worth exploring and visiting. Inspite of being an old property, it retains it’s charm and magnificence.
The location of the Taj Man Singh (Lutyens Delhi), and it’s proximity to the seat of the government of India, adds more value to the hotel.

When it comes to quality food and dining experience, Delhi is considered to a heaven. There are abundant options and possibilities in various parts of Delhi, each one better than the best.
But, Taj is different— It’s a part of New Delhi heritage.

Now, to answer your question—- Yes, Tata Steel also belongs to the Tata group. It is one of the oldest and the biggest Industrial groups in India. Tata group was founded by Jamshedji Tata, in 1868, and owns several global companies, with International recognition, besides the domestic companies. The group deals in almost every sector.
