I love traveling and I have been to Bacolod already so I want to share with you my knowledge about the city especially The Ruins.

The Ruins is located in Talisay, Negros Occidental, Philippines. It is the remains of the ancestral home of the family of Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson and Maria Braga Lacson. It was inherent in the 1900s and inspired by Italian design. It is referred to as the "Taj Mahal of Talisay", "Taj Mahal of Negros" and "Taj Mahal of the Philippines", it is in the private ownership of the great-grandchild of Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson and Cora Maria Osorio Rosa-Braga. They have preserved it in its ruined state as a tourist destination. It can be visited for a fee or rent for special occasions.
HISTORY OF THE RUINS
The Ruins was the hereditary mansion of a wealthy man, Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson developed on a 440-hectare sugar estate in Talisay, City Negros Occidental in the mid-1900s in memory of his Portuguese spouse Maria Braga Lacson, who passed on during the birth of their eleventh child. During World War 2, Filipino guerillas torched it as a countermeasure to prevent the invading Japanese forces from utilizing it as a military place. The Ruins was burned for 3 consecutive days.

- Adults: Php 100
- Senior citizens/PWD: Php 70
- Students: Php 60
- Children (Below 8 years old): Php 20
P1,000 for the first 5 persons, crew included. Over 5 persons, each will just pay the corresponding entrance fees.
HOW TO GET THERE
FROM BACOLOD SILAY AIRPORT TO THE RUINS
Once your plane landed at Bacolod Silay Airport, you can ride into the van / UV's that will bring you to Lopues East (fare is P150). Then, there are three options:
- Get a Taxi to bring you directly to the Ruins (Php 150-280)
- Get a tricycle that will being you directly to the Ruins (Php 50-150)
- Ride a jeepney with a label “Bangga Pepsi” to Pepsi Plant (Php 10) then ride a tricycle to The Ruins (Php 50)
From the airport, get a tricycle outside the Airport Gate, at (Php 15-20), you get to Public Plaza of Silay or the Ancestral Houses. Get a bus to Ayala District / Northpoint in Talisay City. Then get a Taxi to the Ruins.
From Bacolod-Silay Airport, you can take a shuttle (Php75-100), or a cab (minimum of Php400) and ask to be dropped off at your destination.
FROM BACOLOD CITY TO THE RUINS
From Bacolod City, you can take a jeepney (Bata-Libertad) going to the north and ask the driver to drop you at the tricycle terminal near the Pepsi Cola plant. The tricycle would take you to the entrance of The Ruins.
FROM CAMPUESTOHAN TO THE RUINS
From Campuestohan, take the Sarao Bus jeepney or Van and after around 40 mins ride, it will stop next to the Caltex Station or right in front of iMart just across McDo Lopues East Bacolod.
You have two options:
- From Caltex, you can take a Grab Car or Taxi to the Ruins. It may cost Php 140 to 280.
- Or take a jeepney that has a route to "Bangga Pepsi" this route is somewhat extraordinary so please be patient. The ride may take 20 minutes. From Bangga Pepsi, get a tricycle that will take you directly to Ruins Bacolod. Ride a Tricycle for Php 10.00 if you are with someone else and Php 50 if you are going to pay or lease the entire tricycle.
