Panama City Beach is located on the beautiful Riviera…no, not the one in Europe – the Redneck Riviera, on Florida’s panhandle! If you’ve never seen this section of Gulf of Mexico beaches, you’re in for a real treat. The sand is a dazzling white, and it’s soft and powdery. The water is amazing. Ehern, I guess I didn't realize that we are such "close neighbors," relatively speaking! Panama City Beach is beautiful, but I actually prefer points a little east of there: same glorious beaches - no high rises.

Holle Abee (author) from Georgia on January 21, 2010:

Thanks, GF!

This is now my neck of the woods. Great place that I visit often. It is simply great to vacation there, or like I do, make a Saturday outing of it since I am only 80 miles away.
