Vivanta By Taj Yeshwanthpur
It was September 2018 and our family decided to celebrate my birthday at the Taj Hotels in Vivanta by Taj Yeswanthpur.I decided to inquire about any special offers by the Taj group and sent an email query. I got a reply within a day and was informed about the 'Staycation' package offered by Taj Vivanta Yeswanthpur in Bengaluru. Taj Vivanta Yeswanthpur was a luxurious five-star hotel that was developed recently near the posh locality of Yeswanthpur on the National Highway.
We decided to check-in at the hotel at around 3 pm on D-day. Upon our arrival, our baggage was scanned by the security and we were offered a welcome drink. The reception desk was friendly and offered us the room tour after check-in formalities. The hotel was busy with a wedding party and was flooded with guests.
We checked in to the designated twin-occupancy room on the seventh floor of the hotel property. The hotel room gave a majestic view of the swimming pool as we were allocated a 'pool side' room at the hotel property. As soon as we checked in to our room, we were yet again provided with a welcome drink by the hotel staff. We were happy to spend my birthday in a five-star hotel room at Vivanta by Taj Yeswanthpur.
Celebrating My Birthday
The staycation package also had a complimentary birthday cake to celebrate my birthday. The cake was provided by the hotel staff in the evening at around 5.30 pm. We had a small gathering and I cut my birthday cake in the evening and relished the wonderful chocolate taste. The room was well equipped with modern facilities like comfortable twin beds with mattress, in-room dining menu, coffee/tea maker, choice of non-alcoholic beverages, wafers, biscuits, almonds, and cashews for snacks; a study table with the facility of intercom connection and four water bottles. The room also had a sofa which had some Taj featured magazines. As we were hungry, we ordered a sumptuous Masala Dosa from the in-room dining menu and a cup of hot filter coffee. It was a perfect birthday gift while enjoying the Masala Dosa.
The Buffet Dinner
Soon it was 7 pm and we decided to visit the pool area and spend some time in the lobby. The swimming pool area was neat and well furnished with adequate pool lightings. We then visited Gym which was busy with the guests. Next, we headed to the lobby area and decided to spend some time before heading out to dinner. We were then welcomed to visit the in-house restaurant for a vegetarian dinner. The dinner consisted of a combination of lavish North Indian, South Indian, and Continental dishes. The welcome course of the dinner was served with a choice of hot and sour soup, vegetable soup, and tomato soup. The next course was served by the chefs from the live counter. It consisted of Kerala special dishes including Idiyappam served with coconut chutney.
The next course was a choice of the main course along with continental dishes. The main course consisted of a choice of roti, naan, paratha, and kulcha. The North Indian gravy dish consisted of vegetable kurma, paneer dish, dal gravy, aloo matar subzi, and dry vegetable subzi. The choice of raithas consisted of mix vegetable raitha and onion raitha. The salad course had a variety of choices which included cucumber, onion, tomato, carrot, and other items.
The rice items included vegetable fried rice, dum rice biryani, and curd rice. Finally, for the desert course, the items included a choice of milk-based sweets, Bengali sweets, and ice-cream varieties. After dinner, we took a short stroll in the lobby area and returned to our room. The dinner was wholesome and we enjoyed it as a special treat on the occasion of my birthday.
Check-out from the Hotel
The next morning I got up at around 7.30 am and freshened up before heading out for a ten-minute walk. After the walk, I prepared a hot cup of coffee from the coffee maker available in the room. It was refreshing to have a cup of coffee while reading the English newspaper of the day.
Next, we headed to have an awesome buffet breakfast. The buffet breakfast consisted of a choice of North Indian, South Indian, and Continental dishes. The continental breakfast consisted of a variety of pieces of bread, danish pastries, muffins, cake slices, and dry fruits. The North Indian breakfast consisted of parathas, poori and choley, and vegetable poha. While idly, Vada, Masala Dosa, upma, rava idly were available for a South Indian breakfast. We finished our breakfast with a hot cup of filter coffee yet again.
We returned to our room at around 10 am and took a rest for a while. We had to check out of our room by 12 noon. We started to prepare for a check-out and packed our belongings. The check-out was completed at sharp 12 noon and the process was smooth. The hotel staff handed over a 'Smiling Buddha' as a gift wrapped in an attractive cover. The hotel staff was welcoming and courteous and we were happy with the services offered at Vivanta by Taj Yeswanthpur.
