The city of Antipolo was named after the tipolo means "breadfruit" which was in an abundance area. The town also serves as the capital of Morong during the time of First Republic. In April 4, 1998 Antipolo was converted from a municipality into a component city of Rizal Province. It was once part of Tondo province in 1650. It is also described as hilly and mountainous area. Antipolo City is an ideal place to visit as it has a lot of beautiful places.
The city is popular for being a pilgrimage site. It is considered as the Pilgrimage Capital of the Philippines. It can be found on the slopes of the Sierra Madre Mountain Range.

Antipolo Cathedral - also known as "Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage." it is a catholic pilgrimage site which has a 17th-century statue of the Virgin Mary that attracts thousands of tourists each year. Catholicism in the Cathedral Shrine begins in May where the image's of Virgin Mary is dedicated to her. A lot of devotees in Metro Manila on the evening of May day performs the Alay Lakad (Walk Offering) where they spend the night travelling on foot to the shrine.
The image of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Black Madonna) represents the Immaculate Conception which is near in the Sierra Madre mountains east of Metro Manila. In 1626, the image was brought to the country by Governor-General Juan Niño de Tabora from Mexico via the galleon El Almirante. The statue is one of the most celebrated images of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Philippines.
Miracle of the Blessed Virgin Mary:
- The image would mysteriously vanish several times from its shrine and will reappear in atop of tipolo during the construction of the Antipolo church in the 1630.
- Pope Pius XI authorized Blessed Virgin Mary canonical coronation on 13 June 1925, which occurred on 28 November 1926.
- In 2011, the Eternal Word Television Network programme Mary ran an episode showcasing the statue as the “Most traveled Marian Icon in the Philippines”.

Pinto Art Museum
Pinto Art Museum- displays contemporary Filipino paintings and sculpture in tropical gardens with Mediterranean-style villas. It was founded in 2010 to publicly exhibit the art collection of Filipino neurologist and patron of the arts, Dr. Joven Cuanang. Pinto means door in Filipino. It is currently run by Silingan Foundation of Arts, Culture, and Ecology.
It has art pieces from present modern artists where you can find art in different mediums from canvas to sculptures. A place wherein you can see amazing artworks and for every corner you will learn about more Filipino heritage. The place is also instagram-able.
Some artwork has its own room and some are sorted by its style and category. The place is calm, well-maintained and clean.

Luljetta’s Hanging Gardens and Spa- It is a resort located in Antipolo City. A charming property known for its spa treatments and relaxing facilities. Inday Nelly's Mystical Cave
Inday Nelly's Mystical Cave- is one of the tourist spot in Antipolo City maintained by Inday Nelly. It is called mystical because of the holy images found inside the cave. This place is religious because of the rocks that forms different images of Jesus, Mama Mary, Nazarene, St. Peter, Holy Trinity, and etc. The water and rocks inside the cave are said to be holy because it can heal a person's illness.
This Mystical Cave is not only a tourist attraction, it is also for religious people. There are lot of religious stuffs that are being sold here. Vendors are selling different colors of candles where it represents different desire. It is 8 storeys deep but only the first floor is the allowed to be visited.

Hinulugang Taktak - it is a protected landscape located in Antipolo Rizal. The name Hinulugang Taktak was derived from a large bell (taktak) which was thrown (hinulog) into the falls because the local villagers considered it too loud. It became a tourist spot for it's beautiful ambiance and environment. The government acknowledge it as a National Park.
Sadly, the beautiful and charming place is no longer available for viewing because it has a dirty water and different kinds of garbage's thrown by different people. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the city government aimed to restore the glory of the Philippines’ one of the most brilliant waterfall.

Boso Boso Church
The Nuestra Señora de la Annunciata Parish Church also known as Boso-Boso Church- A Roman Catholic Parish Church built by the Jesuit Priests on 1700 under the Patron of Nuestra Senora de la Anunciata. On July 18, 1880, Part of it was destroyed by an earthquake and the Church was abandoned on 1930. On 1943, the church was destroyed because of fire, but it was restored on 1995 by the good devotees.
The church is really old and the structure has no paints in the wall which will make the visitors to feel the old times. It is surrounded by fresh air and beautiful green plants.

Casa Santa Museum
Casa Santa Museum- One of the most famous attractions located in the hills of Antipolo. The Casa Santa museum is one of the highlights of Jardin de Miramar. It’s great sight to see during the Holidays, and even during the other parts of the year. It’s a museum of more than 3000+ items with Santa Claus and Christmas themes. It offers a unique field trip which educates children about Christmas traditions and cultures.
There are lot of attractions and activities that puts fun in education including painting animation characters in ceramics and Pinoy games. Kids can play in the , monkey swings, lighthouse, pyramid tree, swings, bridges, and with Noah’s animals in Mosaic, and the 30-foot Noah’s Ark.

Cloud 9 Hotel and Restaurant Resort
Cloud 9 Hotel and Restaurant Resort- This is a famous hotel and restaurant in Antipolo which lies in a terrace where one can see a 360 view of the whole city. A place where you can relax and best to go to if you want to escape from Manila. It's called cloud 9 because it is up towards the hanging bridge. Cloud 9 Restaurant offers delectable dishes with a panoramic view of nature as you dine in.
The restaurant mostly serves Filipino dishes such as sinigang na hipon, crispy pata, kare-kare, pinakbet, and other home cooked meals and native cuisine. Cloud 9 restaurant is also an open dining space which will make your experience more relax and peaceful with the breeze of air and great food that they offer.

My point of view
Living near Antipolo makes me feel truly at home. The overlooking views and refreshing cool winds gives a relaxing, peaceful and stress free in life. One of the place where you can enjoy vacation. It is a community that is accessible to all because it's near from the business districts of Eastwood and Ortigas. I was once worked here in Antipolo that's why I was inspired to blog how amazing the place is. Every time I was here seems like that I forgot my problems in life because of the beauty of nature.
