New York City is a magical place during the holiday season that is a treasure to witness. One of the places I really love to visit when I spend Christmas in New York. I feel like a child each time I go there.

Volunteering my time for a wonderful organization called RECORDING FOR THE BLIND & DYSLEXIC a few years back, I attended their Holiday party. At this event a volunteer suggested that I walk a few blocks uptown to Rockefeller Plaza and see the Christmas tree. Following this advice, I was star stuck by what I saw. The tree was illuminated with colorful lights and many seasonal statues were sparkled.

Dianna Mendez on December 08, 2013:

I only wish I could have been there to see the lighting of the trees. Your video was awesome! Thanks for the photo tour of NYC's beautiful Christmas decorations.

Last year was the first time in years that I skipped going to the city to enjoy walking around to get the Christmas spirit. I look forward to going in a couple of weeks. Going to walk around all day with friends.
