Journey Onboard Mysuru Express

Trip to Mysuru onboard Rajyarani Express

Our family was invited to attend a wedding ceremony in Dharwad in North Karnataka, India. I planned my trip to travel to Dharwad onboard the train number 17301 Mysuru-Dharwad Express leaving from Mysuru at 10.30 pm. For this circuitous journey, I had to travel to Mysuru from Bengaluru and then hop onto Mysuru-Dharwad Express with my family members.

I booked online tickets through IRCTC's web portal from Kengeri to Mysuru onboard train number 16558 Bengaluru-Mysuru Rajyarani Express and then to Dharwad from Mysuru in train number 17301 onboard Mysuru-Dharwad Express. The D-day arrived and I prepared to leave my home at around 9 am. The arrival time at Kengeri was for train number 16558 Rajyarani Express was around 10.30 am.

I reached the Kengeri railway station at around 9.30 am and moved to platform number 3 as the train was expected to arrive on the mainline. The train arrived bang on time at 10.30 am and I comfortably boarded the designated C1 Coach. The journey to Mysuru was uneventful and I stayed at my cousin's place until evening.

Boarding Mysuru-Dharwad Express

Soon it was time to leave my cousin's place in the evening and I hailed an auto-rickshaw from Jay Prakash Nagar to Mysuru Railway station at around 7.15 pm. Being a railfan, I did not want to miss the railfanning activities at Mysuru railway station and reached the railway station at around 8 pm.

I reached the railway station within few minutes and the train to Dharwad i.e.the train number 17301 Mysuru-Dharwad Express was already shunted onto platform number 4 of the railway station.I had reserved my ticket onboard an air-conditioned three-tier coach or A.C.3 Tier Coach and was allotted an upper berth in B1 coach.

There were not many observations related to the train movements in Mysuru Railway station. Soon the doors of the air-conditioned three-tier coach were opened at around 9.30 pm. I quickly boarded the train and settled down in my seat. The coach was full of passengers and did not have any vacant berths. The train left Mysuru railway station bang on time at 10.30 pm. The travel ticket examiner soon arrived to verify my e-ticket along with my identity card. After verification of my tickets, I decided to sleep in the designated upper berth soon at around 11 am.

Arrival at Dharwad

The next day I woke up at around 6 am and soon we arrived at Hubballi at 6.30 am. Almost all the passengers disembarked from the coach at Hubballi railway station. I decided to get some fresh air and grab a cup of hot coffee at the railway station. Soon it was time to leave Hubballi railway station at around 6.45 am. The journey to Dharwad railway station was just thirty minutes away.

We soon arrived at Dharwad railway station at around 7.15 am. I disembarked from the empty train and proceeded to the railway station's main entrance to hail an auto-rickshaw to reach my hotel room. I was in my hotel room by 7.45 am and thus my trip to Dharwad from Bengaluru via Mysuru ended on a happy note.
