Heart of Pakistan - Lahore
Lahore is historical city of Pakistan and also called heart of Pakistan. Lahore is Pakistan second largest city and capital of Pakistan Punjab province. Lahore famous land marks are Mughal era buildings, parks and mosques. Lahore is also a main social and cultural center of Pakistan. Lahore is most densely populated city of world and also called city of gardens. Several gardens of Mughal era still part of Lahore.
Lahore has large number of schools, colleges and universities.Several Pakistani top writers, poets belong to Lahore and city is still center of books publication. Pakistan eighty percent books published in Lahore. Lahore also played an important role in history of Pakistan. Pakistan resolution was passed in Lahore Pakistan national poet Dr. Mohammed Iqbal was buried in Lahore.
Pakistan TV and film industry also based in Lahore and city is also famous in sports activities several top actors and sports players started their careers in Lahore.
Lahore also produced several top political leaders and army generals country present Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also belongs to Lahore and his brother was chief minister of Punjab province.
Country famous cricketer turn politician Imran Khan also spent large part of his life in Lahore and he built Shukat Khanum cancer hospital in Lahore for poor people.
Geography of Lahore
Lahore - City of Lights
Lahore Fort is located northern corner of city Lahore its also called "Shahi Qila". Lahore Fort was built during the reign of Mughal emperor Akbar and regularly updated by other Mughal emperor. The total area of fort is twenty hectares it has several gates and one main gates for entrance. Lahore fort is still in very good conditions and famous public place in Lahore. People comes all over the country to see the great Mughal architecture of past era.
Badshahi mosque was built during the reign of sixth Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. Badshahi mosque is Pakistan second largest mosque after Faisal mosque Islamabad and most visited tourist place. Mosque is situated just opposite to Lahore fort. Large number of people visit every day during Ramadan and Eid day we can see large number of people ever where.
Tomb of Allama Iqbal
Dr. Mohammed Iqbal is Pakistan national poet he was born in Sialkot and buried in Lahore. His tomb is situated just adjacent to Badshahi Mosque. Iqbal was great poet, thinker and philosopher and he also called poet of east. Iqbal is very famous in Pakistan and his poetry and thinking played a major role in creation of Pakistan he also called poet of east. Large number of people visit his tomb every day and pay tribute to Pakistan great thinker and scholar.
Wahga is the road crossing between Pakistan and India. Wahga is also tourist place thousands of people gathered every to see the Flag raising ceremony. During ceremony troops from both sides tried to inspire their audience through their actions and power. Large number of school children and college students also visit Wahga to raise moral of their forces.
Lahore Food Street
Lahore most famous place is Lahore food streets most of them open whole night and their business is booming in weekends. Thousands of people visit these food streets with their families and enjoy different types of food. All types of local and traditional food is available here and some shops are very famous for their unique test and food service.

Some lovely pictures there, Kufarooq. We have a lot of Pakistani nationals living in may city, Manchester (UK) and I really enjoy eating in their restaurants as I like middle eastern food. I've always been a bit concerned about the security though in Pakistan. I would love to visit but I'm just not sure how safe it is
