Bacolod: City of Smiles
Bacolod, the capital of the province of Negros Occidental, is known to be the City of Smiles. According to the locals, people from Bacolod are very much accommodating and hospitable. This is why we will often find the people there all joyful and friendly.
And I would say that all these are true. Bacolod indeed offers great hospitality like no other! I'm saying this because I was able to experience it myself.
Experiencing the Bacolod!
I together with some of my friends stayed in Bacolod, Philippines for 5 days. The purpose of the trip was for us to attend the 12th Young Economists' Visayas Regional Convention and, of course, to break free from all the stress college has given us.
So, here in this hub, I'm going to show to you where we actually stayed for the entire 5-day trip. It was no other than the famous L'Fisher Chalet! Come on, I'll give you quick virtual tour!
Hotel Room Rates
- Family Room - P2,055 ($50)
- Standard Room - P1,795 ($40+)
- Economy Room - P1,495 ($35+)
- Extra Bed - P560 ($12+)
Note: Of course, prices may change depending on the season. We checked in during September, so the prices were considerably low. During October (the time of Masskara Festival) prices inflate.
L'Fisher Chalet Hotel Rooms
Now, here's the essential part: How much will a night cost me in L'Fisher Chalet?
Surprisingly, the rates are considerably cheap. See the prices on the right. Probably, it was an off-peak or a normal season when we checked in, and thus explaining the low rates. Also, I see no significant difference between the Economy and Standard rooms except for the absence of windows in the former.
I was only able to take a few photos of the room because we were in a hurry. But, I guess these pictures will already give you an idea of how the room looks like. And yes, the beds are just as comfortable as they look in the photo. I would also want to note that the room is spacious enough, so I really think that the price is all worth it.
Oh yeah, before I forget, the entire hotel provides wi-fi, and still is accessible even in the rooms. Although, there are times that the speed slows down to that of a dial-up. The speed will be at its peak before and slightly after dawn (about 2:00am to 6:30am).
Amenities at L'Fisher Chalet
Most of the amenities are housed in the Rooftop of the hotel. Which, by the way, is the 4th floor of the building.
In fact, the rooftop seems to be the "life" of the hotel. What I mean by this is: the rooftop is where you can do most of the activities and pampering in the hotel such as swimming, dining, working out and etc.
The Swimming Pool and Pool Bar
Unwind as you enjoy the heat in the magnificent pool of L'Fisher Chalet!
Beat the heat as you plunge in the cool pool! If you just want to relax while you finish your novel, this place is still great for you. For sure, you'll enjoy the cool breeze and the playful heat that will really give you a peace of mind.
Now, if you are thirsty for some refreshing drink, perhaps you may want to try the Pool Bar. They offer great drinks such as fruit shakes, smoothies and other blends as well (you know what I mean).
The Cocoon Spa
I know that there are a lot of places you may visit in Bacolod. And visiting them, although highly enjoyable, may prove to be tiresome. So, to rejuvenate all the loss energy, you may want to visit the Cocoon!
I've taken a look at the prices of their services, and they range from P400 ($10+) to P1,400 ($30+). Not bad right?
Operating hours: 1:00pm - 12:00mn (Sunday to Thursday) and 1:00pm - 1:00am (Friday to Saturday)
The Virtu Salon
If you decide to freshen up your look, you may decide to drop by Virtu Salon.
I've learned that the hair stylist that operates the salon was able to train in Tony & Guy Academy, a prominent training ground for aspiring hair stylists. And although, I wasn't able to try the salon out, I have a feeling that they provide excellent service.
Breakfast and Etc.
Hotel rates include two (2) complimentary plated breakfast coupons.
Plated Breakfast includes the following:
- Choice of Skinless Chorizo, Pork Tocino, Beef Tapa and etc.
- Choice of Rice, Pandesal or Garlic Rice
- Choice of Brewed Coffee, Black Tea and Juice
- Egg (Scrambled, Pouched or Boiled)
Check out my blog regarding my breakfast experience in L'Fisher Chalet.
Going in a vacation does not mean that you should be missing out on your work-outs! Try to drop by the gym of L'Fisher Chalet.
Although the gym is not that spacious for more than 4 people, it's already sufficient to heed your work-out needs. So, don't forget to bring your sports shoes (because I did forgot).
Rate your experience!
Virtual Tour Ended
Okay, now that I was able to tour you around the place, I've done my part. Your part now is to visit the place yourself and choose to stay in this hotel. I'm sure, you'll not regret checking in L'Fisher Chalet.
