Snake Island: BRAZIL

The Snake Island, also known as Ilha da Queimada Grande, is an island located approximately 33 kilometers (21 mi) off the coast of the state of São Paulo, Brazil. It has an area of 110 acres. It is home to the most poisonous and venomous snakes of the world. The golden lancehead snakes – a species of pit viper and one of the deadliest serpents in the world are found here in large numbers. It is estimated that there are more than 2,000 to 4,000 golden lancehead snakes on this island. Its poison is so dangerous that it can melt down the human flesh.

It is estimated that after every 5 feet you can find a snake. Due to these circumstances, the Brazilian government has banned people to come on this island. Some scientists may be allowed to visit this island for research purposes otherwise no one is even allowed to step on this island.

North Sentinel Island: Bay of Bengal

It is a small island located in the Bay of Bengal. It is very difficult even to reach this island. But the main aspect which gets this island on this list is its residents, which are known as Sentinelese. They have no contact with the world for centuries. They are among the last uncontacted people to remain virtually untouched by modern civilization. We can say that these people are the people of the stone-aged time. The population estimate ranges from 50 to 400.

In 2008, a ship of two fishermen accidentally reached this island and they never returned back. A helicopter was sent to find and rescue them but it was attacked by the Sentinelese with bows and arrows.

In practice, Indian authorities recognize the islanders' desire to be left alone and restrict their role to remote monitoring; The area is patrolled by the Indian navy. Although North Sentinel Island is not legally an autonomous administrative division, scholars have referred to it and its people as effectively autonomous, or independent.

Poveglia Island: Italy

Poveglia is a small island located between Venice and Lido in northern Italy. This island was used to keep prisoners of war(POW) and they were tortured here until they died. A mental asylum was also opened here. A doctor allegedly experimented on patients with crude lobotomies. According to various reports, most recently by the Travel Channel, the doctor jumped from the bell tower in the 1930s after claiming he had been driven mad by ghosts. This asylum also caught fire in 1968 which did a lot of damage to it. The hospital was closed in 1968 and it has been vacant since.

Miyakejima Island: Japan

This island is actually the most distinct and most shocking in this list. Although you can go to this island but to live on this island is extremely dangerous. This island is approximately 180 kilometers (110 mi) southeast of Honshu, Japan. The highest elevation Mount Oyama (雄山 Oyama-san) is an active volcano with a height of 775.1 meters. Over the past 500 years, it has erupted 13 times, On July 14, 2000, Mount Oyama began another series of eruptions, and by September, the island was completely evacuated.

The real problem is the dangerous Sulphur Dioxide(SO2) which comes out of the volcano and has filled the island with it. With this gas in the atmosphere, it is impossible to breathe and stay alive and healthy. That's the reason it is extremely necessary to keep a gas mask with you at all times e.g. Cooking, Cycling, Studying in school, or even in a marriage. The population of this island is nearly 3000.

If anyone wishes to go to this island then that person has to complete specific physical exercises and a medical check-up is also required. Now you will be thinking why would someone live on an island like that! Well, the answer is that the Japanese Government pays the people who live and then examine them for research purposes.
