Do You Know The Blogging Basics?
You are looking for the best blogging platform means that you have defined a niche idea for your blog.
Before starting a blog, you have to understand a few questions about blogging.
Why are you starting a blog?
What is your blog niche?
Who is your targeted audience?
Which is the best blogging platform to choose for your blog?
If you are researching the blogging platform, that means you have a clear idea about my first three questions.
If you don't have an idea about the reason for starting the blog, blog niche, and targeted audience, then let me know in comments. I will help you answer these questions.
So without going deep into the blog basic, just start with the comparison study about the best blogging platforms.
Here is my list of blogging platforms that I used at the beginning of my blogging career.
WordPress is one of the cleanest and easiest blogging platform in 2020. It is serving CMS to around 35% of websites on the web.
It is a full content management system for every kind of business. You can customize every single widget or line on the website using thousands of free plugins.
One of the most important things is that it allows you to manage all the SEO parameters like permalink, title, meta description, featured images, and author details, etc. If you use Yoast SEO or All in one SEO plugin with WordPress, then you don't have to worry much about the search engine rankings.
WordPress gets 4.58 stars out of 5 on Sitejabber and becomes the 1st among the open-source sites.
Blogger is the second most used blogging platform in India, USA, Australia, Canada, and Finland, etc.
The benefits of using Blogger are that it's completely free to use, highly customizable, and SEO friendly design.
When I was new to blogging, I started using blogger as my primary blogging platform. I generated good revenue from my first Blogger blog.
With Blogger, you get an inbuilt analytics tracking dashboard, which allows you to view various stats according to location, age, gender, and source, etc.
You can earn good money using the auto insert google Adsense system provided in the Blogger platform. Also, you can promote your product or can earn money with affiliate products.
Blogger.com gets 4.2 stars out of 5 on Sitejabber and becomes the 11th best blogging site.
HubPages is a famous platform in the United States, India, United Kingdom, and Australia, etc. to start your blog.[According to Similarweb Analytics]
HubPages is good to start your blogging carrier as it has a predefined audience base. You don't have to put much into marketing your blog posts. You will get suggestion traffic from HubPages featured section.
I choose HubPages as it is easy to use, provides a writing guide, and also helps in improving your writing skills.
In the beginning, you might face some issues as you have to pass the HubPages Bootcamp to publish frequently on HubPages.
HubPages gets 4.01 stars out of 5 on Sitejabber and becomes the 21st among the writing sites.
Medium is specially designed for professional bloggers. If you want to make your carrier into blogging, then Medium.com is the right platform to start with.
It provides a WYSIWYG user interface for editing online. You don't have to worry about the on-page SEO the Medium platform takes care of on-page SEO by itself.
It provides a paid membership for exclusive content. Also with a partnership program, you can earn by writing a blog on Medium. You can't promote products or services on this platform.
Medium is famous for it's publishing capabilities, and you should take advantage of that. I also created a blog on Medium, but I didn't frequently publish on Medium because I don't have much time to promote my blog posts. Like Hubpages it also has it's own audience base but you have to work hard to get featured on Medium.
Medium.com gets 4 stars out of 5 on Sitejabber and becomes the 7th best blogging site.
If you are new to blogging, want to quickly start your carrier in blogging, and also want to learn more about writing, then I suggest you start your blog with HubPages. Its BootCamp will make you learn much about professional writing.
