All About Google Docs

Google has provided us with an innovative web-based office suite referred to as Google Docs which is available as freeware.

This online office suite and other useful apps are found on Google Drive. Using Google Docs, you will be able to accomplish tasks online such as creating and editing text documents.

This is just like you use other text editing software like Microsoft Office Word. You will be able to create, share, and collaborate with your friends live on the web using files you have created. These are Documents, Presentations, Spreadsheets, Forms, Drawings, and many more.

This tells you what? You can create your documents like the ones mentioned above without the use of Microsoft Office Suite.

Thief12 I agree it will depend on what one feels comfortable to use and perhaps the loyalty.

Patkay, Microsoft incorporated the Online Web Apps a couple of years ago, after Google had launched Google Docs, so it was basically Microsoft's attempt to catch up with them. Both are very efficient tools so it's up to what e-mail provider you use and which app you feel more comfortable using.

susi10, You better try it and see how it works, you may end up loving it. One thing is that it is easier to use. Thanks for the visit and comment.

Thief12, I was not aware of that, I think it is because I do not use Hotmail. Thanks for the input.

Thanks KenDeanAgudo, you can try it out and see how it works out for you.

Very useful. Thank you for this tutorial, actually I have already this Google Drive but never tried of accessing it since i can just past it on facebook or send it via email. Because of this, I might try using it in the future.

Thumbs up!

susi10, regardless of how good Google Docs is, users of Hotmail/Outlook have the same access nowadays where they can create and edit documents online using Web Apps for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. So if you have an e-mail account with any of those providers chances are you already have access to Microsoft's Web Apps for free.

Useful and interesting hub, Patkay! It is good that Google Docs is free. I never really tried it but I will definitely be using it soon. I have a Google account so at least I can access it for free. I was going to buy Office 2013 for Windows but I think that Google Docs does the same thing; you can create docs, presentations and spreadsheets, plus store them in the cloud for free. I am going over there now to check it out.

Thanks for this detailed hub, love the pictures too. Shared, voted up and more.
