You use usb cable when copying or moving files from and to your gadgets and PC or any electronic devices.
The usb cable is very important to us these days.
If something happens to your usb due to carelessness or misuse you may buy another one or replace new one.
That’s good thing if you still have that budget.
What if I told you that you can repair your usb at home?
Normally, usb have problems like loose connections and the like. We can peel off or do the skinning of your usb wires to know what is inside.
Almost all usb have the same four wires inside, the red, black, green and white.
In some cases, usb has another color coding for another set of wire colors and this is what the hub is all about.
The four usb wire colors I am talking about in this hub are the ORANGE, WHITE, BLUE and GREEN.
What is the ORANGE color of the four wires inside the usb cord?
Orange color in this set of wires inside your usb corresponds the positive with a + sign which means the passage of positive charge in your usb device.
USB cannot operate without electric power.
So, how much voltage does this wire have?
The answer is that all usb has 5 volts only. There is no orange in an ordinary or typical usb cable.
What is the WHITE color of the four wires inside the usb cord?
White color is the ground wire of this kind of usb cord.
The ground wire means the common wire.
Another name for this is the negative wire which means the negative charge of electricity passes through here.
Because this is the negative, the sign for this in our diagram below is the minus or – symbol.
What is the BLUE color of the four wires inside the usb cord?
USB is used to communicate both the pc and your gadgets or devices like digicams, webcams, videocams, etc.
We have now the power source and a complete circuit to operate our device by our orange wire and white wire.
Now, the blue color in one of this usb cable is wire used to transmit data.
The data in blue wire is the minus (-) which also the opposite of the green wire.

As the opposite of the blue wire for DATA minus wire, this green colored wire inside your usb is the DATA plus or Data + and also the transmitter and receiver of data commands from and to your pc and devices.

I am sure that pink is the positive wire in 5 volts DC. Green is the negative wire. Yellow and white wires are data wires.

First of all - if you see any non-standard cable then CHECK IT YOURSELF. The colour-coding provided here is not entirely incorrect (as it'd worked in Mark's setup) but it's one of many variations. I've just soldered cable from old hub that was like this:
and I've got a mouse cable which is like Mark's cable except it has D+ and D- swapped.
Reversing data lines will just leave you with non-working device, reversing supply lines will overheat device and/or trigger some short-circuit warnings, but usually won't damage device unless badly overheated. Mixing data and supply lines is easy way to damage data pins.

Blue and yellow wires here are the data wires. Blue is the data minus probably and yellow is the data plus. The best thing to do is to make a trial and error method.
