1. Resident Evil Village

Unless you've been living under a rock for quite some time you're probably familiar with the Resident Evil series by now. Capcom has created more than a handful of titles, starting with its namesake in 1996 originally for Playstation, Windows and others. Since then though, they have developed their brand into something truly recognizable, and Village definitely speaks to that. It will be the tenth installment in the series, and features an unusually tall vampire woman that fans are dying for.

2. Sons of the Forest

The Forest, by Endnight Studios, is a survival horror game based around the events following a plane crash, and your attempts as a father trying to find your son. Sons of the Forest appears to expand on that idea only in a militaristic sense, as in the new gameplay trailer you are seen brandishing far deadlier weapons than the ones at your disposal in the original game. This game looks spectacularly horrifying.

3. The Medium

A new psychological horror game in the works by Bloober Team, getting exclusively released for Microsoft Windows and Xbox. Set for Jan. 28, the game features immersion technology by the likes we've never seen, supposedly going as far as to mix first and third person camera angles. With a gripping trailer and a world inspired by the paintings of Zdzisław Beksiński, we can hope the Medium scares as good as it looks.

4. Dying Light 2

From developer Techland, we have a much loved fan favorite on the way. Dying Light 2 is shaping up to be a grand sequel to the original, where you make your way through Harran, the Slums, and eventually Oldtown, all the while dodging and killing zombies with all the parkour you need at your disposal. A lengthy gameplay trailer from 2019 shows how to survive in a water crisis.

After being delayed multiple times, we hope to see Dying Light 2 hit shelves sometime in 2021!

5. Little Nightmares 2

From Tarsier Studios comes Little Nightmares 2, a suspense-adventure game planning to hit shelves sometime in November of 2021. You play as Mono, a boy trapped in a distorted world with only a mysterious girl to guide him. Will the adventure be spooky? It seems, with new threats like the mysterious Teacher and Hunter, surviving small just got a whole lot scarier.

6. Scorn

Scorn is an upcoming first person horror game set in a feverish dream like reality where nothing is as it seems, and with limited ammo and plenty of puzzles to keep you guessing, Scorn looks to promise on more than just the obvious. Like The Medium, this game is inspired by the works of Zdzisław Beksiński, but is also incorporating themes from the artist H.R Giger.

7. The Outlast Trials

Yet another comforting sounding title from Red Barrels comes The Outlast Trials, a psychological survival horror game taking many "brilliant" ideas from the last games. I quote brilliant because I'm not sure that's the most accurate word. Anyways, with not much to go off of but a forced experiment where a set of night vision goggles is installed onto your face and your attempts at escape are immediately greeted with absolute death, you can bet The Outlast Trials will do more than a fantastic job at keeping you up past your bedtime.

8. Vampire: The Masquerade- Bloodlines 2

From Hardsuit Labs Inc comes Bloodlines 2, a long awaited action role playing game where you ARE the horror... Play as a vampire stricken with bad luck as you cause a war over the blood trade in Seattle. How you go about managing that and the humans you encounter is entirely up to you. With the ability to leap and maneuver as well as having access to multiple vampiric powers, the scary part shows just how fun it is to be bad.
