Handy Pedicure Tool

The cordless rechargeable pedicure tool is a small gadget, but it produces great results. I purchased the Pedicure Spa Professional Salon Footbath with HEAT – Model HL-300B so that I could do my own pedicures at home. The pedicure spa gadget comes as a nice little addition to the spa set and does wonders for keeping my feet soft and smooth. I saw beautiful results after just one use.

Four Tools in One

The pedicure tool is compact and easy to store. In fact, the attachments can be stored inside the pedicure footbath unit.

• Dry Heal Reducer – I start my home pedicure with the dry heal reducer, using it on my heels and the outer edge of my big toe. I use this tool before soaking my feet in the footbath. It’s great for reducing calluses which cuts down on the time spent polishing my feet. Important – do this while sitting with your feet inside the bathtub or over a towel that allows you to discard the dry scaled skin that flakes off. Use this attachment prior to soaking your feet.

• Stone Pumice – After soaking my feet for 15 minutes, I use the stone pumice to remove the softened calluses and excess, previously dry, skin.

• Nail Brush and Buffer – After using the stone pumice, I use the nail brush and buffer. I use this tool mostly on my nail bed and the skin surrounding the nails. It does a good job cleaning under the nails. Afterwards, my nails look clean and buffed. Because of this, I no longer use polish on my toenails. They look pedicured enough that I don’t have to hide the nails with polish.

• Finishing Pumice – After using the nail brush and buffer, I use the finishing pumice. This is the attachment that makes my skin as smooth as baby skin. I use this attachment on the bottom of my feet, as well as the top of my feet and ankles. It is soft grade pumice that is quite soothing.

The Finishing Touches

After using all the tools, I clip and gently file my toenails to keep them looking great. By the way, cutting the nails straight across helps avoid getting ingrown toenails. When I'm all done with clipping and filing, I apply lotion to my feet to protect them and to keep them feeling soft and smooth.

This review of the Cordless Rechargeable Pedicure Tool would not be complete if I didn’t mention the Pedicure Spa Professional Salon Footbath with HEAT – Model HL-300B.

I enjoy my home pedicure spa. There is a handle on the water basket which makes it easy to fill it up with water and then carry it to the location where I plan to use it. While the product description alludes that the unit heats up the water, the fact is that the unit does not actually heat up the water; however, it does keep the water warm to a certain degree. I found that if I fill the unit with the temperature I desire, I can count on the water to stay warm for at least 15 minutes. That’s all I need anyway.

The unit is much quieter than I thought it would be. I use my spa at night while relaxing during a cable movie. When the unit is turned on, I can barely hear it. In fact, it is not distracting at all.

One word of caution – if you decide to use a foot soak solution, be careful to add just a drop or two. This spa will create a huge mound of bubbles in no time, which will overflow the unit, making a big bubble mess to clean up.

Some negative comments about the Cordless Rechargeable Pedicure Tool

The tool stops working if you press down too hard on the skin. I guess that’s not necessarily a negative, it does protect the skin, but not being able to apply the pressure I want, extends the time it takes to complete the task.

Some negative comments about the Pedicure Spa Professional Salon Footbath with HEAT:

Although there is a handle on the water basket, it is still a little challenging to carry it with the water to pour the water out when done. If I could make a suggestion to the manufacturer, I would suggest they put some kind of spout on the unit to allow the water to drain out as the unit sits in the bathtub.

The unit does not actually heat the water; however when the unit is turned on, there is a heating element that keeps the water somewhat warm. I would like a unit that actually heats the water to a temperature that I like and then keep it at that temperature.

Because of the little foot scrubbers, Sensuous Sea Grass™, at the bottom of the unit, it takes some effort to clean.

Final Comments about the Homedics Cordless Rechargeable Pedicure Tool

The pedicure tool is a great tool. It is easy to use and easy to store. The rechargeable unit fits nicely on the countertop. Just keep the pedicure tool in the recharger and the attachments in the footbath unit. Sometimes, between pedicures I use the pedicure unit in the shower. This helps keep my feet looking groomed until I can take the time I need for a full relaxing pedicure.

Unfortunately, in order to get the pedicure tool, you have to buy the footbath, which is not a bad thing. The footbath can be purchased at any number of discount and pharmacy stores. I have seen it priced often at $49.99 on sale and $59.99 as a regular price.

The pedicure tool looks great. My problem is my feet are so ticklish I can hardly touch them myself so using a tool like this would probably have me in fits. However the foot spa, now that is something I could really use after a long day. Thanks for adding this into your brilliant review.
