How to Fix Slow or Broken Wifi Signals
WiFi never goes out at the opportune moment. When it starts acting screwy, you just want it fixed immediately. Sometimes fixing your wifi is as easy as a push of a button. Other times, it's a conflict of man versus machine.
Turn On and Off Internet
If your internet isn't working, the first thing you should do is turn on and off your wifi. This function is usually pretty easy to find. Find the fan of internet bars and click it. The option to toggle on and off should be easily accessible. Wait a moment and see if you can connect to your usual wifi signal.
Update and Restart Computer
If turning on and off your wifi doesn't work, you may want to consider updating and restarting your computer. Do you do this often? Don't neglect updating and restarting your computer. It's important!
If you turn your computer back on and your internet still isn't available, you should try to restart your router. The easiest way to do this is to use a pen to push the restart button on the back of the router. Hold down the button for 30 seconds. You'll see the router start to flash and flicker lights.
The router might take a few minutes to fully reset. Don't mess with it for a minute or two. Would you like to be rushed after just having been restarted? When all the lights are on or permanently blinking, see if you can connect to the internet.
Turn Off Router
If you still can't connect to the internet, it's time to unplug the router. This is like restarting the router, but a bit more extreme. Unplug the power cord and any ethernet cables attached to the devise. If there is a battery in the router, be sure to take that out as well.
Unplug the router for about 30 seconds. If lights turn on, let them start up and finish blinking before moving on. Next, plug in the power cord to the router. Let the lights power up and reboot. Finally, plug in the the ethernet cords and let the lights show connection.
Power Cycle Modem
If you still don't have internet and you've tried resetting your router, you should try to power cycle your modem. Unplug the power cord from your modem. Unplug the power cord from your modem. Wait thirty seconds and then plug back in the power cord for the modem. Let the lights turn on and stabilize. Plug in the power cord for the router and do the same.
Turn Off Modem
If your internet is still not working, turning off your modem is the last thing you can do to reset your internet hardware. Power cycle your modem, but this time take out the battery as well. Wait about 45 seconds before putting in the battery and then progressively plugging back in the internet devises.
This may be the easiest way to fix your internet problems. Why is it last? Well, because it's never mentioned on the aforementioned websites first found on Google. Why should this hub be any different?
There are several ways to access a router. Once you get to the login page, the login username is typically: admin, and the password is: password.
Reset Router Name and Password
In order to reset your router name and password, you need to first figure out what kind of router you have. Depending on the router you have, you may have to do this step on a separate computer that has internet access. You may also need the router serial code found on the bottom or back of the router.
Once you have accessed the router, rename the wifi and create a new password. You don't need to toy with any other cyber components of the router. Save your progress if the option is available and enjoy your internet access.
To access the following routers, type the following numbers into the search bar. If the router requires a login and password, the default login is: admin, and the password is: password.
Surf the Web
Yay! You've finally overcome machine! How long did it take you? I hope you feel accomplished and not discouraged. Next time you'll be ever ready. Imagine the internet goes out at a party. You can be the hero! Now, go get 'em tiger. The world is your oyster.
Why, Wifi? Why?
