Yes, the Kindle Fire HD does come with Bluetooth technology and this is a wireless connection that goes as wide as 10 feet that allows files to be shares between 2 compatible devices. It comes inbuilt with the KFHD and you can connect with a lot of other devices through it.
To start using Bluetooth on a Kindle Fire HD, just pull down your top menu > Wireless > Bluetooth > Switch on.
Once the bluetooth is powered on, you can choose to allow detection and then pair with your other device(s) for easier transfer in the future.
Transferring files via Bluetooth on a Kindle is one of those things that adds to my satisfaction. It wouldn't be smart if a device like this didn't have bluetooth technology.
Things you can do with Kindle Fire HD's bluetooth
- Transfer files to and from your phone
- Transfer files to and from your computer via a usb bluetooth device
- Send pictures to print across bluetooth network
How to transfer files to Kindle using Bluetooth
Assuming you've got videos or pictures on your phone that you want to transfer to KFHD, you can do this easily from a paired device by:
- Powering bluetooth on phone and Kindle
- Choose the file
- Select to transfer via bluetooth
- Accept the transfer in your Kindle
- Wait for the transfer to complete
Now, you can then open the file on your Kindle Fire after the process is completed.
Tip: Avoid transferring non-virus scanned files to your Kindle as this may affect your software. I think it's normally safer to transfer from a computer that already has an existing antivirus solution than from a mobile phone.

For now, you can't send from Kindle. Maybe, there could be an app in the future that allows one to do that.
