Why do you need a separate blog page?

Suppose you are running a website and you provide some health products, then you can start writing down the benefits of the products that you have.

This lets your audience know why they need to buy your products.

If you don't create a dedicated page for your blog, all of your blogs will appear on the home page, which is quite strange due to the designing perspective.

In the blog section, you can write anything about your services, products, opinions, and some important stuff related to your business.

To create a blog page, please do not skip any of the points mentioned in this article, otherwise, you may face some errors.

So, let's create a separate blog page with WordPress!

Don’t focus on having a great blog. Focus on producing a blog that’s great for your readers.

Create a page

First, go to Pages and then click on Add New. After naming the page(Blog), press the Publish button and leave the page.

At the same time, create another page named Home.

Now, head over to Appearance and then Menus. Here you need to select or create the main menu and drag Blog and Home pages to this menu.

After completing the task, be sure to hit the Save Menu button.

Now if you want to see the pages on the current website. It will look like this:

After this, if you click on blog, the page will appear blank in the front-end. To fix this issue, let's turn to Settings and then to Readings. Now select the second button and choose Home and Blog on the drop-down section.

To understand this point clearly, please have a look at this picture:

As soon as you select the correct pages, scroll down, and press the Save Changes button.

So far, you have successfully created a separate blog page :)

Now, if you want to check the work you have done, click on the blog page, and you will see all your blog posts appear on the blog page.

Home Page

If you take a look at the home page (if you are building this website from scratch), it will appear blank.

To design the home page, you need to install a plugin called Elementor Website Builder.

Elementor Page Builder Plugin

You will need to install the Elementor plugin on your website. To do this, go to Plugins and then Add New, now search for the Elementor plugin.

After installing the plugin, you have two options to design your page:

  • By adding Blocks
  • By adding Pages

By adding Blocks

Let's have a look at the first option. With this, you can design your home page by adding several blocks. To understand this, follow this pattern:

Edit home page: To edit this, open the home page, and click on Edit with Elementor button.

As soon as you click, you will see an editor page with some designing elements on the left side.

At the center of the page, you will see two icons. When you hover over them, you will notice their names.

Now click on the second icon, which is Add Template.

A pop-up window will open as soon as you click. Now tap on the Blocks section, here you will see many blocks that you can add to your home page.

To do this, select one of the blocks, and click the Insert button. This way the selected template will be inserted into your home page.

In this manner, you can add several blocks according to your requirement and taste. But please do not forget to replace the dummy text and pictures with yours.

After adding blocks, if you want to remove them, just click the delete icon, and the block will be deleted from your home page.

By adding Pages

To add an entire page, click the Add Template icon again, and then click Pages.

Now choose any page you like and follow the same rules. In this way, the entire page with sample data will be inserted into your home page.

Next, all you have to do is change the text, images, and links (if any) from the template.

Note: Do not forget to press the update button, otherwise, the changes on the front-end will not be updated.

Conclusion

In this complete guide, I have described a simple way to create a separate blog page and as well as how to design a home page.

After making changes on the back-end, do not forget to press the save button.

This is how you can create a blog page. It is politely advised not to miss any of the points mentioned in the post.
