How to Integrate Whatsapp Chat in Wordpress Website? a Step by Step Guide

#Join.Chat Plugin

Follow the next steps to add this plugin to your WordPress website.

Step-1 Install the Plugin

Before anything else, you have to download the WhatsApp plugin to do this. To install the plugin, go to the WordPress dashboard and select Plugins > Add New.

Now type in the search bar 'WhatsApp', you will notice a couple of plugins available for the same task.

Next, find the Join.Chat plugin in the results. After selecting the plugin, click Install and then Activate.


Step- 2 Configure the Plugin

In the second step, you have to configure the plugin so that your visitor can contact you through WhatsApp.

After activating the plugin, click Settings under the name of the plugin. As soon as you click on it, you will be taken to a separate window where you can enable some settings to display the chat icon on your website.


After clicking on the settings button, you will come to this page:



In this tab, you can enable all the settings of your choice. First of all, you need to select your country and then add your WhatsApp number to integrate the chat.

After adding your number, scroll down and click on the Save button. Now refresh your website and you will see that the WhatsApp icon appears on your website.


Once you click on it, you will be taken to your WhatsApp application directly. Now your audience can chat with you through this plugin.

This plugin has some amazing features that you can try to apply such as a default message when they click on the WhatsApp icon.

#Click to Chat Plugin

Click to Chat is a free plugin by HoliThemes that I like the most. In this plugin, there are a variety of functionalities such as the style of the icon, your own image, and the position of the icon.

Step-1 Install the Plugin

To install the plugin, please follow these steps:

  • Head to Plugins then click Add New.
  • Type Click to Chat in the search bar.
  • Hit Install and then Activate the plugin.

Step-2 Configure the Plugin

After this, if you notice, a new item Click to Chat has been added to the dashboard. All you have to do is click on it, a separate window will open with some settings once you click.

WhatsApp Number:

Here you have to enter your mobile number on which you have a WhatsApp account. Additionally, under the text field, you will see some suggestions to get the best results.


Pre-filled Message:

Type a message that you want to receive when they click on the WhatsApp icon.

Call to Action:

Keep this setting as it is now. On this note, you do not need to change anything.

Web WhatsApp:

This feature is pretty important. If you want to show the WhatsApp icon on the desktop, check this button.

Note: I would recommend enabling this setting as some of your customers may contact you through their PCs.


Next, you can choose the style of the icon according to your designing taste. You can set different styles for both desktop and mobile. It is entirely up to you how you want to make it look.

After entering all the appropriate details, press the Save Changes button.

As soon as you click it, refresh your website and you will see that a WhatsApp icon will appear on the right side of the screen.
