Color code of the USB - four wires in the USB are as follows

Skinning your USB cable shows the four wires inside it. The set of wires may vary from USB to USB depending on the manufacturer of the USB. The thing is, if your device fails to work, you may plan and decide to buy a new one. Try to consider repairing the cables around. You may find that most of the defects are only the cords and cables. Due to the bending of these wires from time to time, wires break. These days, USB cord is commonly used in almost all devices.

There are four wires inside your USB and if the wires are Orange, White, Blue and Green, you follow the color code below:

Orange supplies the power for the whole USB device. It has 5 volts. This is the positive wire opposite to those of the negative wire, white.

White serves as the ground wire or the negative wire. If you want to power your device the wires orange and white are the proper wires for that positive and negative connections.

Blue represents the DATA+ meaning data in positive for file transfer, etc.

Green is of course the DATA- as the negative wire and again for data transfer, file transfer, etc.

Aside from the four wires inside a USB mentioned above, also, a set of wires that are very common are red, black, white and green. Now, if you have these colors try to refer the color coding below:

Red is the positive line of 5 voltage power that runs in your USB.

Black wire is the wire for the negative connections for your device, without this wire, the red wire will not function since electric current flows through negative to positive terminal.

White wire in this case, is data plus or the data positive. The symbol is DATA+.

Green wire is the negative data line which means file or data transfer going in and out of the USB device and the PC.
