Best Way to Get Website Indexed by Google

Getting Indexed by Google and other Search Engines

Search Engines index and rank web pages not websites. Therefore, remember that getting your website ranked by Google and other search engines means that you need to link your web pages together. Your website pages should be linked together so that if your home page gets found, then the rest of your pages are more likely to be indexed and found. Google mainly indexes and ranks websites by following links throughout the Internet.

You should also try to get your website listed in authority directories such as Yahoo directory and DMOZ. Google Search Engine will find and rank your website faster and better if your website is listed in these two top directories.

The best way to get your website listed in the search engines page results is to improve your websites link structure. If your website is optimized correctly and you have a descent link structure, your web pages should become listed and indexed by the search engines.

Most SEO experts will tell you that submitting your website to the search engines more than once will not improve your chances of being found on Google. Producing back links to your website and web pages is the best way to get your web pages indexed and listed in the search results. The more quality links that point to your website and pages, the better your ranking will be.

It is highly recommended to get back links from websites that already have a high Google page rank. You can check website's google page rank by downloading the Google toolbar and it will show the rank of the site that you are viewing.

The page rank will be listed with the number 0-10. With the number 10 being the highest page rank and 0 being a lower page rank. The higher your page rank, the more chances your website will appear in the search results.

To be able to get quality back links to your website, you need to find reliable and related websites that may exchange links with your site or directly link to one of your quality web pages. Getting one way links to your web site is the best way to increase your page rank and get found by the search engines. One way links means that a website links to you without you providing a link back to their website.

Another way to get good back-links to your website is to publish online articles that relate to your website on high google ranked websites such as here at Hubpages. There are many online writing websites where you can contribute articles and link your website to the bottom of your article. You must make sure that your website link is a helpful resource to your readers.

Follow Google Guidlines

Another way of getting your website indexed faster by Google is to follow all of Google's guidelines. From experience, I have learned that Google likes quality content and links that will please the Internet users. Building your website to be search engine and people friendly will get your website indexed by Google and the other major search engines. Submit your website to the search engines only once and build quality backlinks pointing to your website.

Cool hub. Any tips on getting backlinks to individual hubs, as opposed to backlinks to a whole site?

Thanks Zarko. I have realized that there is so much free information on Search Engine Optimization that many people can do their own SEO work and many SEO experts will be out of jobs lol. The great thing for experts is that SEO is time consuming and there is a lot of information to learn, therefore many site owners will not have the time or patience. Thanks for reading my article.

There is plenty more on SEO and optimization, but that can't be put in a comment, it's too long, so I'll just say that what you've done here is great. This is more than enough to get the beginners off the ground and point them in the right direction. Great job :)

Thanks James! You did include some great factors needed to help with optimizing a website. You are very knowledgable and I appreciate your comments.

Hi Tammy, great Hub. Voted up. It worth is adding for the reader that there are many factors and you covered most of them very nicely.

Some additional things that really help are to have your back links 'anchored' with the main keywords you want to rank (get found for) for in Google and to have a domain name with the keywords already in the address of the web site.

For the lay person what this means is that if you have a link like this on a web site and you are trying to get ranked for keywords 'article writing' then you need the link to be 'under' the words 'article writing' - this is the called the anchor text of the link.

Next, the domain name should ideally contain your keywords. In our example the best name for our web site would be - If this is not possible then have page names with the keywords in it. for example

Finally, the structure of the web page itself is also crucial and ideally the page title should contain the keywords as well as the H1 or H1 tags in the page but that's a little more technical.

Hope that helps everyone interested in this subject.
