While there’s no guaranteed way to make money blogging, it’s still one of the best ways to grow your business and find new customers. In fact, over 40% of small businesses say they use blogging as an integral part of their marketing strategy, while 44% report using blogging to get more online exposure. If you aren’t taking advantage of blogging yet, here are eight ways it can help your business grow and thrive, whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been at it for years.

1) Get Found by Search Engines

You can’t make money if people can’t find your site. When you blog, you are essentially creating new content for Google to index. The more content you create, the higher the chance your site will show up in search results. And, the higher your site ranks in search results, the more traffic you’ll get to your site. More Traffic = More Money: People click on search engine results before they do anything else and when they land on your site, that's when they decide whether or not to stay there. Whether it's a post about a product they were looking for or an informative piece of advice, blogging will help keep them engaged with your business.

If you want to grow your business using blogging as a tactic, then be sure to provide quality content and avoid spamming techniques like keyword stuffing. Remember to use social media sites like Facebook, TikTok, Instagram and Twitter as another avenue to promote what you're doing online by sharing blog posts with followers. By doing this, you’ll be able to reach a wider audience and get your name out there. Plus, you’ll be able to build relationships with other bloggers and thought leaders in your industry. The more these people know about you, the more likely they are to share what you have to say with their followers, which will help bring in new business. And that's just the beginning! With time and persistence, blogging can help grow your business in so many ways .

When you become a thought leader in your industry, you’ll earn the trust of potential customers. And since 92% of consumers say they would rather buy from a credible source than an unknown one, it’s important to establish yourself as an expert in your field. You can do this by writing blog posts that showcase your knowledge and share your insights on the latest trends.

Make sure to use keywords they’ll be searching for, and you can make it easier on yourself by using a keyword tool like Google’s Keyword Planner. Also, remember to include in-depth links to other resources that contain further information. If you don't have photos on hand, you can use stock images from sites like Adobe Stock Photo, BigStockPhoto, Shutterstock or Unsplash which are available under Creative Commons licensing terms. The most popular time to publish blog posts is generally during the morning hours (a few hours after waking) because this is when your followers may be checking their social media accounts first thing in the morning.

You can easily connect your social media profiles to your posts by using social sharing buttons in a box on either side of your text. If you don’t have enough time to post as often as you would like, it’s still important to publish content regularly and engage with your audience. Aim for posting between 1-3 times per week.

When you blog, you have the opportunity to build relationships with your readers. You can connect with them on a personal level and let them get to know you as a business owner. When they feel like they know and trust you, they're more likely to do business with you.

Write down two or three things that are easy for people to do right away without any further information needed. Make sure that at least one of these tasks is related to the content of your post. For example, if you're blogging about how important it is to include protein in your diet then make sure there's a way for people to sign up for a free nutrition ebook (or other relevant offer).

If you mention a book or podcast in your post then provide links to both of those items. These are all very simple ways to show your readers that you care about their success and are willing to help them reach their goals. The more effort you put into encouraging others, the more likely they'll be interested in doing the same for you.
