You can ask Alexa to tell a joke, answer questions, play the news, check the weather, set alarms, and more. You can even use your voice to turn on lights, adjust thermostats, and lock doors with compatible devices.
Alexa lets you call almost anyone hands-free. It can instantly drop a message in other rooms or announce to the whole house that dinner's ready. Amazing isn’t it? An artificial intelligence–powered virtual assistant developed by Google, Google assistant is primarily available on mobile and smart home devices. Unlike the company's previous virtual assistant, Google Now, the Google Assistant can engage in two-way conversation with its user. It does so with Google’s natural language processing algorithm.
It allows you to search the internet, schedule events and alarms, adjust hardware settings on the device, and show information from your Google account. Search results are presented in a card format that users can tap to open the page. It can also help you maintain a shopping list.
In May 2017, Google announced that the assistant would support a keyboard for typed input and visual responses, support identifying objects and gather visual information through the device's camera. It would also support purchasing products and sending money.
Bixby is a virtual assistant developed by Samsung Electronics. Bixby comes with four parts, known as "Bixby Voice," "Bixby Vision", "Bixby Home" and "Bixby Routines". "Bixby Voice" is the name for the method of activating Bixby by calling it or doing a long press of the Bixby button, located below the volume rocker.
"Bixby Vision" is an augmented reality camera that can identify objects in real-time and potentially offer the user to purchase them online, translate text, read QR codes, and recognize landmarks. "Bixby Home" is a vertically scrolling list of information that Bixby can interact with, for example weather, fitness activity and buttons for controlling their smart home gadgets.
At the beginning Bixby supported three languages: English, Korean and Chinese. It also supports contextual search and visual search. Samsung has proved itself to be true technology giant. Cortana is a virtual assistant developed by Microsoft, which uses the Bing search engine to perform tasks such as setting reminders and answering questions for the user. This assistant is voiced by Jen Taylor and it is available in English and French language. This feature was released in the year April 2, 2014.
Cortana runs on Windows, iOS, Android and Xbox OS. It is named after Cortana, a synthetic intelligence character in Microsoft's Halo video game franchise originating in Bungie folklore. Apart from all the things it can do, Cortana is also known to simulate the sound of a rolling dice and coin being flipped.
