so your favorite LEVI'S are ragged out,... no worries!
we all have them, that favorite pair of LEVIS, mine are the 501's that fit soo darn good i can fool myself into thinking i look good in them.
but it happens, the first hole, the weak spot, the tear, the rip at the seam,.. but you wear them anyway, looking like your re-living the 80's or embracing the 90's grunge movement,... either way its still the 21st century and theres more of you haning out of the holes in your jeans than you'd like so a descision has to be made,....
but wait!,.... theres a magic talisman directly above your right butt cheek!
the LEVI'S warranty
it's a poorly kept secret that LEVI'S warranties their jeans against deffects in materials and/or workmanship. what this means is that if your jeans wear out or fail before they should you may well qualify to get them replaced compleetely free of charge,... and free is a good thing!
step one,... the magic number,.... phone number that is,...
you could google and surf the web, cruise the web sites, but why? i'm going to give you the magic number right here,...
when you call this toll free number you may be on hold for a bit but persevere, its worth it. when you are connected, just tell the rep that you would like to "have defective jeans replaced" and they will guide you through the process.
you will be asked for your name, address, phone#, and email address.
you will be sent instructions as to how to pack and return your defective jeans, limit 3 at one time, and you will be able to mail them to the company free of charge using the included shipping label.
you may receive this printed material at home via old school snail mail, or, like me, you may receive all of this via email so you may print it all at home.
the instructions in the email are clear and easy. fill in the needed info and include the printed email with your jeans. when your package arrives at LEVIS the jeans will be judged by LEVI'S inspectors as to weather they failed through poor workmanship or materials, or, if they meerlt wore out after standard wear and tear. if they are found to be faulty, they will be replaced free of charge. you even have the option of having your old jeans returned to you should they be deemed without fault, but simply worn out.
i included a picture of the printed email here, with my personal info redacted. but i'm a good sport, i left my jeans size listed.
the post paid mailing label prints easily and you can tape it to the outside of your box.
in 4-6 weeks you will receive a new box in the mail containing your replacement jeans or your old jeans if you indicated you wanted them back.
a word of caution,... not all LEVI'S are equal
the LEVI'S signiture brand marketed by many large department stores are not covered by this warranty,.... only the jeans bearing the LEVI'S label you see here are covered by this warranty.
the signiture series are a less costly pair of jeans, but they are not covered by this great warranty that allows you to buy one pair of genuine LEVI'S and wear them for life in some cases.
i also find that the signiture series LEVI'S are just NOT THE SAME,.... no other way to say it.

the last time i returned jeans to LEVI's for warranty replacement, i foolishly requested the same size as i sent them. of course, when they arrived, they did NOT fit my butt,... no matter how hard i tried or held my breath,... this was just NOT the look i wanted to sport in public. in truth, it wasn't a good look in front of the mirror in private either! ha!
one quick phone call to the company at the # noted above, and all was solved. they sent me a confirmation email, and i shipped them back to the company with the supplied label for replacement with the proper size. this time around, i had to pay the shipping since the mistake was mine, but the customer service rep on the phone was wonderful and got just as big a laugh out of it as i did. 2-3 weeks later,... new jeans,... that fit!

It is a 2 year LIMITED warranty! And NOT if its decided as: A) normal wear and tear; B) misuse, abuse or neglect! IF you have jeans that comply, DO NOT send them to the address in Kentucky that customer service is so fond of giving out! That is for online purchases within 3 months ONLY!

OK, I took a chance and called Levi's @ 1-800-872-5384 and spoke with a very nice young lady. I told her that I would like to have a pair of defective replaced, she asked me how long have I had them because they didn't replace anything older then two years. My jeans are only 8-10 months old so there wasn't a problem. She also asked what the issue was and how many pair I would be sending them, I told her that the zipper had failed and that I only had one pair. She said that there was no problem and ask the usual questions and told me that I should get an email in about 3-5 days with the shipping label for paid postage and the turn around time will be approx. 3-5 weeks. So it all went well, for those who posted that it's not covered, idk it is as of 8/25/2016 @ 6:45 PST. I just got off the phone with a Levi rep. that said it was.

Levis will replace jeans on a limited warranty, not for people who choose to send very old jeans in and abuse the system. I had a crotch blowout after six months and was sent replacements. Wearing holes in the knees and other things that obviously come with time will be sent back, as they are not stress points or stitched seams.

Lynette is right 18 months ago after seeing this post I sent in three pair of jeans that had broken belt loops and a ripped crotch. I subsequently had two of the pairs they sent me do the exact same thing within a handful of wears. I sent them back being aware of the "guarantee", and they returned them to me saying that it was a product of "normal wear and tear and not a defect in material or workmanship". Clearly the guarantee no longer exists, but thanks for the heads up I was able to use it the one time.

Don't bother sending jeans in anymore, they will not replace them! We wasted the shipping cost on three pair that had holes and belt loops that tore off, which also made holes ... no dice!! All of them were sent back. They said that they had natural wear for the life of the jeans! They aren't making good jeans anymore ... and the "lifetime warrenty" IS A JOKE!

Just so you know, the company no longer provides postage. I know this is an older post but I just claimed warranty for the first time and I called back in to find out why I didn't receive a return label and they said that they used to give them out but no longer do so. Just a heads up for anyone reading this. They were however very polite

hmmm...... the email they sent you should have included it,... i'd call them back and use the reff number that should be in the email,... call them and get it cleared up, the customer service is great, they should be able to clear up the erorr for you.

Useful hub! I didn't know about this warranty either. My Levi's are in awesome condition, but if they should ever fail I'll know what to do.
Skechers has a warranty on defective items also. My sneakers began to fail after a few months of minimal wear and I got a brand new pair :)

believe it or not, levis is very open with their replacement policy,... if the jeans fail, you can get them replaced in a different size,... meaning,... hold your breath,.. put them on,... then go build fence and see if you can "make" them fail! ha! then request your replacement in a different size! hee hee..................... but very glad to hear your recycle your good clothing,..... i'm a thrift store and yard sale hound myself,... i get my levis for a couple bucks more often than not, even if they are damaged,... because my cheap ol' arse knows,... i'll get new ones!

Wow - I wonder how many labels I've tossed out simply from not knowing the jeans were guaranteed! Wait - I think they got 'repurposed' when the guarantee that I wouldn't gain wait failed. So I donated them to some poor person who is starving and therefore still skinny.

Good for you to activating your warranty! So many people have products that are warranted and don't remember, or don't go through the steps to call the company on it. If the Levi's quality has gone down, then if enough people ask for replacements, the company will see that they would be better off not skimping so much on the original manufacture. But if everyone just buys another one, then they will consider themselves better off skimping. I think we should check our warranty on every product when it breaks down instead of giving up and buying something new. I just called the faucet manufacturer on a lifetime guarantee - saved myself a lot of money!
