Shoe Trends For Women

Whats in and what's out in women's shoes

Shoe styles this year are fabulous, and platforms appear to be on the way out! While spiky pumps with very pointed toes are the shoes that are setting a big trend. The hottest Fall/Winter shoe trends are shoes that don't whisper, but shout! Ballerina flats are not the softly spoken ballerina flats of yesteryear but stand to make a large statement. The demure velvet shoe is hot for the evening. Hey, I am sure not all of us will be tossing out our platform shoes, but I for one do love the look of sexy pumps.

Let's talk pumps "The sky's the limit". The pointed stiletto is the biggest new look for the pump. The new trendy pump has a very pointed toe, with a very high, thinly constructed pencil heel. Many shoe designers have added different embellishments. Such as spikes, bows, buckles, and many other spectacular baubles. However, you will see loads of classic stilettos in wonderful solid colors as well as prints. Leopard is one of the hottest trends for pump shoes. If you are only permitting yourself a couple of new pairs of shoes this Fall, make a classic black stiletto one of them. Keep in mind, this Fall the popular color trends are neutrals, white, and black. Nothing can chic up a black sheath dress like a pair of leopard pumps.

The Extreme High Heels of this season will be hard on one's ankles, and arches. The stilettos are towering, I am talking 7 inches high. The runways were "war zones" with models taking slips and spills due to mega high-heeled shoes.

The Platform Is Losing Its Popularity But Still Around

This season it's very apparent that popular "shoe designers" are making every attempt to get rid of the popular platform pump. One has to just check out "Christian Louboutin's" Newest shoe collection to see "the writing is on the wall." It so appears that lots of celebrities have already tossed out their platforms, and are now choosing to wear the more classic pump. I hope you will take the time to take my poll. I would love to know how women feel about the apparent departure of the platform pump. Do you think the definers will win out?

The Leopard Pump

Did you know the "leopard pump" shoe is now considered to be an all-time classic fashion item? Well, it is, the leopard pump has been around from as far back as the late 1940s. Do you have a pair in your shoe wardrobe? A leopard shoe is a must-have for this Fall. The Fall fashion shows presented tons of fashions all done up in Black, as well as other warm browns, and tans. So what goes better with these colors than leopard? I mean if you want to make a statement you just have to add a great leopard shoe to a skinny jeans look.

The ballerina flat was inspired by the actual ballet slipper. "Audrey Hepburn", along with other fashion Icons of the 1950s made the shoe popular with its very pointed-toe version. The ballerina flat quickly caught on with women across the world. It still today remains one of the shoe styles that defies time and is a staple in most women's wardrobes. This season the ballerina flats you will see will be much more like the style that Hepburn wore with a very pointed toe. The difference, the shoe designers have cut out the sides of the shoe on one or both sides and left them without embellishment. Last year's ballerina flat had rounded toes and embellishments. Such as bows, jewels, you name it. The new simpler styled ballerina flat of this year looks wonderful with cropped pants, rolled jeans, skirts, as well as shorts, and dresses. They are very versatile.

Booties

The Booties ...

Do you love the ankle-length booties styled shoe? Well, the booties are still very much on trend. They are a bit higher up the ankle and sport many different heel heights. The booties this season are sporty, with an edge, lots of hardware, and embellishments. You will see tons of booties styles that have shearing added in all the right places.

Caged or cut-out Booties continue to be very trendy. Oh yes, they remain very in, they're bold, fun, and edgy. The caged weave bootie or cut-out gladiator sandals will show off your pedicure with that wonderful peep-a-boo toe. You will see as in the stiletto, the platform is gone. The cutout or caged booties are much more refined in design, feminine, and very sexy. You're going to see fabulous cut-out booties, and flashy platform booties, with a chunkier heel to boot. Furthermore, heels will rise to higher heights. All I can say is I hope our arches, and ankles can go the season.

Boots

What's Up With Boot Styles

The boot forecast for this winter is all over the place. You will see sexy boots, stiletto styles with very high heels, and oh-so-pointed toes, and from over-the-knee lengths to mid-calf. Another big boot trend is the rugged manly styles, buckles, straps you name it. Look for lots of shearling and suede this season, shearling is being used in many forms of fashion this season, including, handbags, jackets, and shoes.
