Where To Buy Your Very Own Ruby Red Slippers
Are you looking for ruby red slippers like the ones Judy Garland wore in The Wizard of Oz?
"There's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no place like home." Dorothy fans everywhere recognize those iconic lines from the movie The Wizard of Oz and we all know that, while repeating those lines, Dorothy had to close her eyes and click her heels three times to be transported magically home.
Yes, the ruby slippers are magic. Little girls seeing the ruby slippers at the Smithsonian institute for the first time stand transfixed. They realize the powerful magic that is associated with those beautiful shoes, the shoes which helped Dorothy return to her home in Kansas.
They long for a pair of their own ruby slippers. Little girls have been longing for a pair of ruby slippers since they first appeared in MGM's movie when it premiered in 1939. Did you long for a pair of ruby slippers when you were growing up? Does your daughter desperately want a pair? I did not actually know that I wanted a pair until I started reading about them and saw the tremendous selection that is available!

Jimmie, you are positively correct but a page full of silver slippers would not have the same punch, would it?
Jimmie Quick from Memphis, TN USA on December 25, 2010:
Awesome! I'm a huge Frank L. Baum fan. Of course, in the original novel the slippers were silver, not ruby red.
katrinasui on October 24, 2010:
Nice collection of red shoes.

@TreasuresbyBrenda When my daughter was about 10, I bought her a pair of ruby slippers similar to the pair you have in your top photo. She loved them! The sparkle, the shine, the redness! Sad to say both my girls have outgrown that phase, and now like wearing old worn out clothing the best.
I do love the flip flops though. Bright colors is one of my things. May have to get a pair.
Had a great time traipsing through this jaunt down memory lane. Thanks. :)

Who would have guessed the red flip flops would have been so popular? Personally, I couldn't wear them but I definitely would pick something with a low or no heel, too.
Susan Hazelton from Northern New York on August 08, 2010:
My grandaughter would love a pair of ruby red slippers. Thanks for sharing the information. I myself like the ruby red flip flops.

Susan Deppner on June 16, 2010:
Oh, I love the ruby slippers flip-flops! Actually, I love the glitzy high heels, too, but for me the flip-flops or ballet flats would probably be a safer decision. Love this ruby slipper collection!
Sandy Mertens from Wisconsin, USA on June 16, 2010:
