We Like to Move It! Move It!
It is a common misconception that plus size girls and women do not work out.
But we know better don't we? We walk, we run, we bike, we swim, we do yoga, we do Pilates, we play basketball, we play baseball, and oh, so much more. And we love to do it!
The problem up until now has been finding the plus size clothing and the support bras to do all the fun activities we love to do. Look no further! The Plus Size Active Wear lens highlights some of the best online vendors for plus size active wear.
Now go move it, move it with some style and comfort!

Are You a Socially Active Person?
Functional and affordable...
This plus size clothing company is on the hub of plus size fashion for every day wear tops, bottoms, and dresses but they recently introduced a pretty and affordable selection of plus size active wear.
Their active wear lines includes pants, tops, and jackets varying from $25 to $40 at regular price; their sales are a steal.
They have a nice size range too -- 12 to 26. Their shipping is based on weight and they do ship internationally.
You will find some color blocking, print accents, bright colors, and neutral options to choose from.
State of Mind
Working out or doing errands...
This U.K. retailer is available in a few select retailers and online at their official site where they serve a worldwide market. I have had the opportunity to review a few of their high-quality products and found them impressive (there is a link to my full review in the next box).
State of Mind active wear offers plus size bottoms, tops, jackets and a few swimsuits for good measure. They have the usual yoga type wear that is figure hugging as well as some looser a-line styles.
Active wear tops from State of Mind range from $38 to $90 (US) bottoms from $60 to $80 (US). Currently they offer sizes 12 to 22 (US) and size 16 to 26 (UK)
I had the opportunity to review a few pieces from State of Mind, pop over to my blog and read the review and the one I found by another blogger.

- The Ramblings of Mrs BeBe: Review: State of Mind, part 1
Ooh that sounds ominous doesn't it? Part one?! Well let me start by saying the lovely Michaela and Kerensa founders of State of Mind sent me 2 very generous parcels of their active/leisure wear, or what they've cleverly called ...
Lola Getts Active
"Whatever Lola Wants, Lola Getts"
It is not a typical name for a clothing company but they are not your typical clothing store. Lola created this line for women who "seek style and comfort" in their active wear that is also fashionable has a "go power" attitude to it.
This plus size active wear line currently carries four tops with four color choices, five bottom with different fabric options. Prices range from $72 to $105.
Lola Getts currently dresses sizes 14 to 24 (let's hope they increase it). I could not find their shipping information but contacted them asking. Will update when I hear back.

Danskin, one of foremost makers of active and dance wear for decades, have been developing a plus size active wear line for a few years and it seemed to be coming into its own but has stagnated with just a few basic pieces.

I Would Like to Recommend...
Wendy Shanker has written for national women's magazines, hosted fashion shows, traveled far and wide to gather the data compiled for the "The Fat Girl's Guide to Life." Ok, maybe not "far and wide" but she has first hand experience. Wendy is thirty-two years old and she has been fat for most of her life. Now she is putting that experience to good use.
Shanker's style is blunt and to the point. She says it like it is (or at least as she sees it) with a little bit of sarcastic sometimes comedic twist. She is not degrading like most fat humorists. She is respectful but truthful. Her raw humor made it easy to read. But this book definitely is not all about humor. It is about being fat in a media infested world.
Shanker's book is not what I would call a step by step guide but a "get real" guide. It is time to admit you are "Fat" and then get on with it... Life. Stop dwelling on how you do not have, Cameron Diaz's thighs, and go have some fun. Through her personal experience and empowering dialogue I think she is setting an example. I am looking forward to her next book. Perhaps "The Fat Girl's Guide to Life: Part II."
Taffy Active Wear
This new line of plus size active and yoga wear from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was developed by fitness instructor Katie Kozloff and offers tops, bottoms, and jackets.
The online shop offers sizes 14 to 24. The prices are pretty reasonable with tops between $25 to $50 and pants between $35 to $50. There is a limited selection with some styles still listed as "coming soon".
There is free shipping on orders in the U.S. but I could not find any other shipping information.
Thank you for visiting my Plus Size Active Wear lens. Before you go please sign my guestbook and answer one of these questions:

Something I enjoy doing is playing my fitness games with my xbox 360 and kinect. I currently only have a few games though. I also really enjoy purchasing fitness clothing from my local walmart when there on sale. There is no target in my local area so I don't go there much and when I do there's nothing on sale I like. And I prefer indoor when my room is organized otherwise out doors in thew summer.

My favorite activity is softball. I would like to point out a problem I am having in finding a runners/walkers hydration belt for plus sized people. Many belts only go up to a size 46" or 50" and it's really frustrating.

Great lens. As a curvy girl who is trying to become more and more active, I was dismayed to discover how difficult it is to find athletic wear that fits me. There is so much talk about how people who are overweight need to exercise, but it's discouraging when you can't find basic things like workout clothing. This is a great resource.

It also carries the Enell sports bra which I added to my purchase when I bought their yoga pants. They fit great and I feel awesome when I wear them. I just ordered their jacket- can't wait.
