Best Jeans For Your Butt

  • Author:
  • Updated date:

Purchasing the best jeans for your butt can be a bit of a problem if you don’t know what styles suit the shape of your … seat. Women everywhere aspire to look great and feel great and as most of us spend much of our time in denim, why not source the best jeans for your whole shape and body type?

Usually, jeans that fit, lift and flatter the rear also fit better overall. Most will have a tummy tuck type front panel or a quality denim lycra mix that does exactly the same job. And though some are quite expensive, not all are. You can pick some fantastic jeans up for a very reasonable price.

However - if you want the best that your money can buy - don't be shy! The Levis jeans below are a great mid-range pair that will enhance the slimmest of body shapes. Treat yourself to a designer pair - after all, you can't put a price on looking great and feeling fabulous.

Whether your seat is flat, rounded, lacking definition or has finally given in to gravity – there will be a fit that best suits your shape. Make your friends and family wonder what it is you're doing ... once you've found the perfect jeans for you!

Best Jeans For Your Butt

You need to think about your butt, before you can determine the best jeans for it. Is your behind athletic or flat? Perhaps you have a great behind, all high on the hips and JLo style. Or maybe you’ve hit the dreaded middle aged spread and believe you could do with a little seat-lifting help? The following list indentifies three classic shapes and then recommends the type and style that you’ll need to aim for, in order to best flatter the best ... or worst bit or your body.

If you can’t improve what you have by nature - then the next best thing is to fake it. We live in a world whereby it's now acceptable. It’s now fashionable to improve our figures with varying types of figure enhancing clothing, and it’s becoming the norm to wear tops, skirts and jeans that nip in the waist, narrow the hips and create a false hourglass figure.

A great example of figure enhancing jeans are the Not Your Daughters Jeans featured below. They employ a tummy tuck type of control, nipping in the curves that you don't want to share, whilst enhancing what needs improving upon. They're a best seller across the nation and that's for a very good reason - they work. A definite buy for those looking for a little help in the fit and flatter department.

Best Jeans - Flat Butt

Aim for jeans that have smaller pockets, sat medium high and semi-wide on your butt. The denim needs to stretch and give, so only look at jeans that have Lycra (or similar) woven into the material. Stiff jeans will only flatten your butt further, so avoid classic cut denim at all costs. And it’s worth investing in jeans that have a waistline that’s average.

A pair of low waisters will only reduce the size of your butt to the eye – and the point is to project ‘more’ – not less. If you're wanting to buy the best of the flat butt jeans, then you need to take a look at True Religion's Joey Baby Blue Jeans. Hudsons Jeans and Not Your Daughters Jeans also do a great line in denims that create curves. Check out Ebay and online stores. Shop smart and you'll find a pair a lot cheaper than you will down the highstreet.

Best Jeans - Big Butt

Look for a triangular yoke, narrow spaced pockets and flexible denim.

Look for a triangular yoke, narrow spaced pockets and flexible denim.

A big butt needs treating much the same way as we do when we want to minimize a large chest. Therefore you need to think right size, in order to create ‘smaller’. Meaning – correctly fitting jeans will go a long way toward reducing the size of an ample booty.

You need to buy jeans that are higher on the waist – no low risers, they’re simply non-flattering. Go for the type that have a larger 'yoke'. This gives a better coverage across the small of the back. Pockets are great but try to aim for those with a little detail on them, and make sure they're sat close together. Widely placed pockets add to width - so avoid widely spaced ones. And as with a flat butt, don’t buy stiff denim, it needs some give whilst allowing you to feel comfortable and ‘contained’.

You might look good standing but you need to think about when you’re sitting. Jeans that cut into your waistline or won’t adjust when you sit will simply ride down – exposing a bit more than you’ll have bargained for. If you've got a few extra curves, take a look at Gap - they do some great, reasonably priced styles, as do the House Of Dereon - great jeans at great prices.

Best Jeans - No Butt

No Butt Jeans

If you’re blessed with a distinct lack of seating, don’t panic – the perfect jeans exist. There are quite a few styles currently on the market that are specifically tailored to enhance a butt that lacks an important detail … the butt itself. First of all, you need to aim for interesting elements – embroidery and embellishments on the back pockets.

We’re talking unusual designs on the pocket flaps, buttons and detailed stitching. Wide spaced pockets to create the illusion of curves. Low rise jeans are a great style and look for the type with a faded seat area – basically butt-creating details. Again, as with the flat butts (sorry for the terminology … ) don’t buy stiff jeans. Aim for the Lycra type as they will allow for movement. You need to do a little alluring wiggling when you’re butt-less and stiff jeans just don’t cut it.

If you’ve got cash to splash then why not just spend some of your hard earned on dedicated butt enhancers? True Religion Joey jeans are said to do amazing things for a tiny butt, thought they retail at around $200 plus. Or check out the Gap range. Much easier on the bank balance and you could probably buy three pairs of Gap jeans to one pair of True Religion.

Best Jeans For My Butt

And the best jeans for my butt? By choice - Gap jeans. Currently I'm sat in a pair of old faded stiff denims. I know that classic denim isn't always the best thing for my curves ... but I can't help it. I love comfort and I've had mine long enough for them to have become molded to my shape, as well as a little threadbare.

Enjoy finding the perfect denims, no matter your budget. After all - what matters isn't so much the cost as the fit!

I am sorry I am an average guy and if you need an 18 or a 20 I dont want to see you in jeans at all . Your but is sagging because your sitting on it to much . ! Exercise and work hard and you will loose the sag and size

and look sexy in jeans like the women wearing the 8s and 10s

size 20 jeans should not even be manufactured ! The of the material wasted

Ok I have spent forever looking for those butt lifting jeans for a plus size woman. Where can I find them. I can find junior sizes to 15 but I wear a junior 19 or 21. Or a women's 18 20. Is there any reason why you would make butt lifting jeans for younger thinner people. I would think that women over 30 and past a size 12 would be the perfect customers. Why would a young women or teen eager need to lift there butt. I did not even think about my butt sagging until I was 40. Please help

Funny but good advice. There is just something about jean that bring out one person's body, isn't it ? When I was overweight, I used to avoid jean. Now, that I have reached my ideal weight, I just enjoyed wearing jean. They are so nice to wear ! And this hub provides great info on how to choose a good one. Thanks.

Artoflegendindia on September 25, 2010:

your hub is best.

Courtney on September 17, 2010:

I have a very large butt, and in my experience you should do the excatly opposite of what they say. Buying high waisted jeans expands the look of the length of your backside, and makes it looks bigger, or more like 'mom butt.' Yikes, stay away.

Great hub with really useful information for us jean lovers. :)

i'm a bubble butt kinda girl, and i think low-rise looks way better on me than even regular rise. its like low-rise was made for a bubble butt, it stops right above it rounding it out instead of trying to fake a flat butt with high waisted pants. who wants that?

and i LOVE your advice about the triangle stitching and pockets for bubble butt, this has always eluded me, until now! :)

Kathleen Lewis from Southern Michigan on October 23, 2009:

Great timing on this Hub !! I plan on buying new jeans tomorrow because, butt has changed since the last purchase. Hmmm...maybe all the extra walking and exercising I Have been doing??? I can only hope that is the case.

Over the last couple years I have noticed women wearing very poor-fitting jeans, creating what I call a "table butt". It actually resembles a table. If only there was a way I could subtly refer them to this Hub.

Useful Knowledge on October 21, 2009:
