What Products to Use on Black Natural Hair at a Low Price?
Have you been transitioning from relax to natural hair and was wondering what are the right and best low price products to use on your hair?
I've transitioned from relax to natural hair over 3 years ago and that journey was a hard one, but using the right shampoos and conditioners will help you to manage both textures of your hair while you're growing out your relaxer.
Now good shampoos and conditioners doesn't have to break the bank, so I'll explain in this article shampoos and conditioners I've used that are good for your hair and low price.
Also check out how I currently do my twist outs and what hair products I use.
Good Natural Cheap Hair Shampoos For Natural Hair
Natural Low Price Shampoos
When transitioning to natural hair, I needed to find the right shampoos to fit my hair wants and needs. I wanted to avoid ingredients like alcohols, parabens, petroleum, sulfates/ sulphates, which can be very drying to the hair and also create product build up. I wanted a good shampoo that is natural, suds well, and won't strip my hair of its natural oils.
Check out this article on NaturallyCurly.com to learn more about harmful ingredients to avoid in hair.
Trying to find that perfect shampoo for me caused me to bcome a product junkie! LOL! I would try one shampoo one day and go out and buy another.
People always think that good natural hair products are too expensive which is not always the case because you can find a good natural shampoo at your local grocery store or Vitamin store. Here are a list of shampoos that I like to use:
Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo
Aubrey Organics Shampoo
Good Low Price Conditioners for Natural Hair
Some people don't realize that there are several good conditioners that are $4 or less! I'm serious! I get good slippage from cheap conditioners from my local grocery store. After I've shampooed, I've always used a conditioner to moisturize my hair or my hair would feel dry and be hard to comb.
I like to comb my hair with some conditioner in it to make sure each strand of hair gets conditioned and also comb out the tangles. Also when I cowash (wash hair with conditioner instead of shampoo) I like to use cheap conditioners. Here are some of my conditioner cheapies that I enjoy.
Aussie Moist Conditioner
Herbal Essence Hello Hydration Conditioner
Garnier Fructis Conditioner
Low Price Deep Conditioners
Every time I shampoo and condition my hair, I always use a deep conditioner. This helps keeps my hair soft, more manageable when combing, and moisturized! Below are the deep conditioners I like to use.
Leave In Conditioners
Having a leave in conditioner is a must for my hair or my hair will be really dry! I use the most cheapest leave in conditioners and it always does the job for my hair. Below are some low price leave in conditioners I like to use.
All Natural Hair is Not the Same
Stick With a Hair Product That's Right for You!
Find out what hair products fit your needs. Not everyones hair is the same so don't hop on everyone else's bandwagon just because a certain product work for them, it may not work for you.
If you find something that works for you, STICK WITH IT! Thanks for reading my article!

I am allergic to many brands of shampoo and conditioner and like you went through I don't know how many brands to find ones I could use. I hate seeing the words NEW and IMPROVED on a label because it usually means that I can chuck that brand lol. I am now experimenting with a coconut oil shampoo and it seems to be doing okay.
Lou Martin (author) from Atlanta, Georgia on June 03, 2013:
@anonymous: I love their products too, especially their conditioners! I love using their conditioners to wash my hair instead of using shampoo which strips my hair from its natural oils.

@aesta1: Very true! I have hard water at home which strips the moisture in my hair. That is why I prefer to cowash my hair to keep the moisture in my hair. I wish I could use lake water, but I'm not near a lake.
Mary Norton from Ontario, Canada on September 30, 2012:
Sometimes, the water in your place matters. When I am in a lake and get the water from the lake for my hair, my hair is soft and straight or from a river, it's the same thing but heavily chlorinated water can really make my hair frizzy.

@theophilus111: Is this a brand or pure shea butter?
theophilus111 on September 14, 2012:
shea butter leave in conditioner works really well..

@captainj88: Thank you Leah for sharing my lens to your friend. Also a good way to keep her hair moisturized is by cowashing (washing hair with just conditioner). This will help fight dryness from the dry hot weather. Make sure the conditioner is a Moisturizing Conditioner.

My best friend Kayla and her husband Ilexene are moving to Haiti for mission work. She is looking for some affordable natural products she can take with her in bulk, since she won't have the convenience of large markets once she gets to St. Luis du Nord. I'm going to send her the link to this lens. Thanks for sharing!

@anonymous: Yeah just using conditioner (co-washing) is a great way to keep hair moisturized! I wash just using conditioner sometimes as well, especially the summer months!
