Pan Am (formally known as Pan American World Airways) was a US air carrier that operated from 1927 to 1991, so is it any wonder that dressing up this year as a flight attendant can help transport you back to the simpler days of travel! Lets start with the stewardess cap! The official color of Pan Am was baby blue and it was the 'pill box hat style' that completed this mile high look . A “Pan Am” medallion or pin stuck on the side will help authenticate the look! And the one of the final touchs of this uniform is to wear a pair of white gloves. Add a pair of hip and groovy white go go boots and you will be as high as the stewardess's of yore.
If you like the futuristic look why not update this 60's Pan Am look with a little inspiration from Britney Spears in her "Toxic" video. The pop diva wore a blue flight attendant uniform that reeked of the future and was over the top sexy.

Great post for Halloween 2011! My husband and I were at the Air and Space Museum in DC in August. It was fascinating to see all of the different flight attendant costumes throughout the last 50-60 years. This is an excellent costume choice.
