Egg yolk contains most of the nutrients found in the whole egg and is necessary for the body, as it contains a high content of protein, vitamins, minerals, fat, and calories, and despite all that, egg yolk has gained a bad reputation because of its high cholesterol content, but it has many benefits for the body and skin, and its benefits for the skin are as follows:

  • It contains multivitamins, healthy fats, and many minerals necessary for the skin and nourish it.
  • It contains large amounts of water and fatty acids, thus keeping the face hydrated, protecting it from dryness, and leaving the skin soft and supple.
  • Egg yolks contain vitamin A necessary for the treatment of acne.

Egg yolk recipes for skin

1. Egg yolk, banana and olive oil
This recipe includes eggs, olive oil and bananas. All of these ingredients provide moisture to the skin, nourish it significantly, they also remove acne and blackheads, and can be used on the face by following these steps:

♦ Ingredients:

  • One egg.
  • Mashed banana.
  • Two teaspoons of olive oil or coconut oil.

♦ How to prepare and use:

  • Separate the egg whites from the yolks.
  • Mashed bananas are added to the yolk.
  • Add olive oil or coconut oil to the yolk, and mix the ingredients with each other for a harmonious and smooth mixture.
  • Wash the face with warm water until the pores are opened, to remove makeup from the face or other traces, and apply a towel to the shoulders to protect clothes from the mixture.
  • Apply the mask to the face, and surround the nose, mouth and eyes.
  • Leave the mask on the skin for 15 minutes with care to prevent the mixture from falling out, and this mask can also be used in the bathtub.

This method helps nourish the skin, and can be used on the face by following these steps:

Ingredients:

  • The yolk of one egg.
  • 3 teaspoons of bran;
  • A teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil.

  • Mix all the ingredients with each other to obtain a homogeneous paste.
  • Apply the dough to the face and neck with a suitable brush.
  • Leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes, so it's best to lie back and relax.

  • Dry the face with a clean towel, and apply a suitable moisturizer.

  • Eggs are rich in carotenoids that are beneficial to eye health as they protect it from the risk of cataract disease in the eye and they also protect the retina from free radical damage that occurs as a result of aging and the sun's ultraviolet rays.
  • Eggs provide complete and adequate food for the fetus, protect it from the risk of some health and psychological problems, and some chronic diseases after birth, and they also play an important role in building the fetal brain and preventing birth defects, so it is recommended to eat them for a pregnant woman.
  • Eggs help build muscle because they are rich in protein in very large quantities, and egg whites contain a protein called albumin that promotes the absorption of all proteins in the body and facilitates muscle growth.
  • Eating eggs that are completely cooked or boiled protects the body from the risk of food poisoning caused in most cases by Salmonella bacteria found in raw or semi-cooked eggs.
  • Eggs help protect against cardiovascular disease, and they also reduce the incidence of cancer, especially breast cancer, since they contain many antioxidants.
  • Eggs contribute to the health of nails and hair, and stimulate their growth due to their high protein content.
  • It improves mood and reduces stress, it is rich in vitamin B12, which helps with this, along with folic acid that promotes emotion, and it also helps to treat depression due to its high content of methionine and cysteine acids.
