Do you think women with short hair are unfeminine?
I recently wrote a hub about long hair styles, specifically, long hair styles on women over 40. It is my opinion, that we should not concern ourselves with puritanical, outdated rules dictating how women ought to wear their hair at this or that age. In other words ladies, your age should have no effect on your choice of hairstyle; if it looks good, go with it. I have discovered, through generous feedback, that many people agree.
However, I inadvertently seem to have given a few people the idea that I do not like short hair and consider it to be unfeminine. Alas, dear reader, nothing could be further from the truth! As a matter of fact, I absolutely love short hair styles and greatly envy any woman who looks good with one. For my part, I have never been able to pull off that short-and-sassy look...and I have tried. But that does not mean that I can't recognize a short-haired beauty when I see one.
Therefore, just to prove my point, I have put together the following photos of 10 undeniably gorgeous celebrities, sporting splendidly cropped coiffures. (Say that ten times fast!)
Emma Watson
Anjelina Jolie, Halle Berry and Emma Watson are all gorgeous gals that look like a million bucks with ultra-short hair. We have seen them with longer hair at times, and no doubt, have our own opinions about which hairstyles we like best. As far as I'm concerned, they could not be any more classically beautiful than they are, pictured here, with boy-short hair.
Carey Mulligan
Carey Mulligan is nothing short of adorable and that super-cute cut is unquestionably part of the appeal.
Carey reminds me of my college friend named Cat. Cat always wore her hair super-short; she also had just about every guy in the school wrapped around her little finger. (This was a bit annoying actually, but I wasn't jealous or anything like that, no...really.) If you asked any one of these fellows, they would tell you they preferred long hair on "chicks," but then Cat would walk in the room and they'd all go to pieces over this short-haired, darling girl. Silly boys!

Meg Ryan always looks great, long hair or short. Over the years we've watched Meg looking glamorous, sexy and cute all at the same time, and always with a great haircut.

Charlize Theron is just ridiculously pretty, that's all there is to it. How she made herself look like Aileen Wuornos in Monster, I will never understand. I guess that's why they call it acting.

Look how boyish Alyssa Milano comes across without her long locks. Yup,...totally unfeminine. By-the-way, my husband is glancing over my shoulder and I'm afraid his eyeballs might pop out if I don't move on from Alyssa's photo.
Sharon Stone
Sharon Stone has always looked great with short hair. Actually, she has just always looked great...period.
Rihanna
Rihanna is a sexy, super-hottie and another great example of a woman who can wear her hair anyway she pleases and look dazzling all the while.
Now I admit that this photo might be a few years old, but I remember when Wynona Ryder made her short hair debut, way back when. I was green with envy. She is just one of those people who looks even more fantastic with short hair...and she looked pretty fantastic before she cut it, so that is really saying something. I've always thought of her as one of the prettiest actresses out there.
