The Perfect Jeans for Curvy Girls

Little in the Middle, Jeans to Make You Feel Empowered

Jeans to fit the curves of the female body.

Jeans to fit the curves of the female body.

A bit of Background

I come from South America, where most girls strive to have and show off their curves. Where I was born women are proud to have a booty and clothes are cut to enhance curves instead of hiding them. Think about the Brazilian bikini, cut in a way that makes your booty look even more bootyilicious and tantalizing. That is why when I moved to Europe I found it disheartening that most clothes –underwear and outwear- were cut so differently. That is one of the reasons why I was never very fond of wearing jeans; they rarely fitted right. Most jeans were either too big in the waist –leaving an unsightly gap that not even a belt could disguise- or they were far too tight so that I could hardly move or breath. Neither of them was the ideal situation for an item of clothing that is supposed to be one of the most comfortable things one can wear to go around in town.

Little in the Middle: Jeans Cut for Curvy Girls

This are the best jeans for curvy girls I have ever found:

A couple of weeks ago someone left a comment in one of my articles about curvy girls. The comment had a link and an invitation to visit a site specializing in jeans for curvy girls. I visited the site and much to my surprise I found that finally someone was doing jeans for girls with a booty and a small waist, as opposed to the ordinary “one size fits all” type of jeans.

I was curious about the concept as it made so much sense to me to have a special design of jeans to fit a curvy girl’s figure. I found it amazing that European or American designers hadn’t thought about it before. The site was easy to use and the jeans looked like good quality and worth their price so I decided to give them a try.

A week later my Little in the Middle jeans arrived at my door. I opened the parcel and immediately tried on my first pair… It fitted like a glove, I couldn’t believe it. I tried my second one and it was exactly the same experience, as if it had been made to measure! Not only did they both fit perfectly but they made my curves look delicious, tucking-in my tummy without making appear unsightly bulges and hugging my hips and booty with love. I felt over the moon with my new jeans this were the best jeans for curvy girls I had ever tried on, and this is why I am recommending the Little in the Middle jeans to all curvy girls who want to feel at ease in their jeans.

The sizing method that makes sense

Little in the middle uses a sizing method that makes a lot of sense for us curvy girls.  They actually use one size for the hips and a size less for the waist which makes for a natural fit for pear and hourglass silhouettes.

The Little in the Middle range

There are basically 5 types of jeans for curvy girls available by Little in the Middle:

  1. The Bold style
  2. The confident Low rise cut (available in two tones)
  3. The confident low rise cut available in 5 colours (white, yellow, pink, red and black)
  4. The empowered mid rise cut in two tones
  5. The empowered mid rise cut available in 5 colours (white, yellow, pink, red and black)

My Experience:

For my first try I chose the Bold style in deep sea colour. This is a mid rise bootcut model with no back pockets which gives your bottom a very smooth look. You have two little pockets cut at the front but they are more an adornment than utilitarian. I loved the wide waistband with two buttons in this style because it helps to flatten the tummy, wearing them is like having an instant tummy tuck. The jeans are made in 99% Cotton and 1% Spandex which gives it a good hold.

I also tried the Empowered Deep Sea which is a mid rise cut that sits just bellow my bellybutton keeping the rest of my tummy perfectly tucked in.

Both jeans are boot cut which help to balance a curvy figure. Having said that, I ventured to wear mine tucked inside my thigh high boots with no problem. I can say that they are very flexible; the bootcut is just perfect as it can fit inside boots without looking bulky.

The only drawback of my perfect jeans is that they are a little bit too long; or perhaps I am just a tiny bit too short -160 cm. But it doesn’t matter too much to me as I like to wear high heels most of the time. The most important thing for me is that I finally found a pair of jeans that celebrate my curves!

Bold Ocean

Item #: 106O

My last comment,. I think I found the model I like is the Bold Ocean Sand, without pocket on the back, just I know that model I have use it before, it just fit perfectly right in your body. I think You are right this seems to be a brand make for curvy women.

Style: Mid Rise, Snug, Boot

The Bold jean by Little in the Middle is a Mid-Rise Boot cut with no back pockets. The Bold jean features a wide waistband with a double button closure that helps to flatten out your stomach.

Marissa on December 31, 2010:

Baby Phat does not have the Brazilian style that South American jeans have. Those jean over there make the fattest chick with no curve look sexy in their pair of jean. Baby Phat style tuck up your tummy, I don't want that, I want there to be adjusted to my shape but not loose that give me more. So no America does not have a brand that enhance the curves in curvy woman. And when I man curvy and talking about curvy, not fat curvy. You can be very curvaceous and not be fat at all.
