Nazmun Nahar is a beauty enthusiastic who has experience in beauty and fashion.

Winter has come already. It's so cold outside. Even the wind of winter weather is capable of making our body freeze. The ears become cold within a few minutes. Our feet become cold due to the weather. I have become more lazy these days. It's tough to take care of our skin in the winter season. But our skin needs more care in this season than other seasons. Even oily skin tends to dry out in winter. Skin feels rough and uneven. Earlier my skin used to be rough and it used to get scratched easily. Most of our body parts crack, making it look ugly. Our ankles crack more than our hands and face. We all think that it will heal after we add lotion and oil onto the body. We only rely on the lotion and vaseline in winter thinking that these are enough. Yes, they are good but it's not enough though. In winter, the sensitive skin needs a little bit of tender touch. In this article you will learn how you should take care of your skin in the winter season. What would be best to do and not to do? You will learn how to lock moisture into the depth of your skin. Your skin will look healthy and smooth even in this freezing cold winter.

Products You Should Use In Winter

  • Glycerin- The first thing I would recommend you to is GLYCERIN. It's one of my most favorite products in winter. I need at least one bottle of glycerin each month of winter. Though sometimes I buy more bottles of glycerin. In our country it's the cheapest available product. My ankle always cracks in winter. There was a time when blood came out of my ankle because I didn't take any time to apply ointment. It caused my ankle to crack and blood came out frequently. My ankle looked ugly. I didn't love my ankle. My sister recommended that I apply glycerin instead of ointment. She said it helped her to heal her cracked ankle. I followed her instructions and applied glycerin for a week. The interesting thing is my cracked ankle was cured in seven days. Since then it has become one of my products. I have a fresh and healed ankle.
Smooth Hands

  • Vaseline - Although glycerin has fast healing power. If it's not available in your area. You can choice vaseline. In my perspective,it's not as fast as glycerin, though it would heal too. To be honest, glycerin doesn't suit my lip while glycerin cured my cracked ankle. My lip cracks frequently in winter. I have the bad habit to pull out the skin of cracked lip which causes lip bleeding. It's painful. I have put a little amount of glycerin on my cracked lip. It didn't cure as fast as it did to my cracked ankle. Then I apply vaseline and I saw it worked fast than glycerin. Although it didn't work fast on my ankle. It proves that both of them are equally important and they work fast according to the skin type. There's big difference between our ankle's and our lip's skin. Our ankle's skin is tucky while our lip's skin is soft. Buy both glycerin and vaseline in winter.
Oil

Oil

  • Mustard Oil

I have gone to a skin consultant in Sylhet hospital. She said,"Mustard oil can greatly improve your body texture, but stay away from putting it on your face. Face skin differs from body skin. Face has sensitive skin. If you put mustard oil on your face,it can cause irritation and itch a lot. Your face skin will burn. There's many different skin types and most of them face this problem. So I will suggest you to not put this onto your face. Though it will be helpful to your body skin."

Yes, her suggestions were great for me. Of course, I felt irritation on my skin when I tried to put mustard oil on as an experiment. I quickly washed my face with cold water. My body's skin texture improved greatly.

  • Coconut Oil- Coconut oil is my one and only favorite oil. It has enriched ingredients which work greatly on both my body and hair. It has increased my hair growth. Coconut oil doesn't create much irritation as mustard oil does. Mustard oil can't be applied to the face. But you can put coconut oil on your face differently. The problem is coconut oil makes your face oily causing it to create acne. Oily skin has acne problems. When you apply coconut oil on your face,it wouldn't irritate, but it would make your skin so oily that eventually there would be an acne problem. I would recommend you to apply coconut oil on body skin. It will improve your body skin.
Water

Water

  • Warm Water- Warm water is good for health. It increases the circulation of our skin. Try to have a bath with warm water everyday in winter. Even after winter, you can bathe with warm water. It helps to relax our body and mind. Yet stay away from washing your hair with warm water. It will only make your hair worse.

Drink lots of water this winter

Drink lots of water this winter

  • Drink Plenty of Water- In winter our body needs more water. The weather in winter is dry and cold. In this season drinking plenty of water is the proven solution for dry skin. I had experienced the difference between when I drank plenty of water and when I didn't. The results are that when I drank plenty of water, my skin wasn't as dry as the days when I didn't. Try to drink as much as you can.
Tea

Tea

  • Tea/ Coffee

Coffee or tea? I prefer tea over coffee. In winter, hot tea can warm up your body. Coffee can do the same thing. But I love tea more than coffee. So I'm preferring it. Though you choose coffee, if you like it. When you are feeling cold, make a cup of tea or coffee and drink. It helps you to relax in this weather. It would immediately warm up your body.

Excercise

  • Exercise- Exercise in winter is another way to warm up your body. Running, jumping and other exercises can hugely warm you up.

Additional Tips

  1. Eat healthy food and veggies. Add a portion of both meat and veggies in your daily food. If the meat isn't available, you can eat healthy veggies.
  2. Apply glycerin/vaseline at night. Keep it overnight. If you apply glycerin in the daytime. It wouldn't work as much as it would at night.
  3. Drink at least two glasses of water before sleep.
  4. Stick to your daily exercises

.

Conclusion:

Winter has come already, do the above mentioned tips and take care of your body. Your body needs some tender touch of love ^_^.
