Pamper Yourself with a Bubble Bath

Work Week is Over!

Your work week is over, and your body and mind can become weary from constant shopping, cleaning, cooking, and keeping the family on schedule. Also, I am trying not to forget the absolute joy of entertaining family and friends on week-ends and special events.

With the last person out the door—what do you say to yourself? Really! Would it be--thank God and green apples I am finally alone.

Now, we all know we enjoyed doing it for others. But let’s be honest, I are bone weary, slapped-down country tired, even my eyelashes hurt. Ouch!

I am looking forward to Pampering myself into Passionate Bliss!

Time to Clean my House---Again.

Now, we really have to meticulously clean our house-- again. Especially, since little Davie likes to hide his candy in strange places.

Like today, I found a snickers chocolate bite hidden in-between my new laced yellow towels and it was not in its wrapper. The chocolate had adhered to the yellow fibers leaving a chocolate mess. To the cleaners it will go, and I can’t wait to see their faces when I hand over a towel to be dry cleaned.(Bless his Heart. And if you are Southern you know what that means. HA!)

Then a family member thought she was helping when she took my Irish Linen Tablecloth off the Dinner table and threw it into the washer with the linen napkins.

Now, I baby my linens, as I wash them by hand looking for stains and tiny spots, so I can scrub them out. Yes, it takes time, but they are beautifully clean when I finish washing them.

Now, after wanting to scream when I went to my washer and found my tablecloth and napkins all spun out and waiting to be dried. ( My fingers inched to wash and spin her. Where in the world has my Southern sweetness gone? Gone with the Wind, probably. And then my Country Girl thoughts take over---no sweetness there.)

What I had was a wet-spotted mess, which I finally got all the spots out, and dried and ironed them and put them away for another dinner, hopefully without a family member's help, next time.

How to Pamper Yourself on a Budget

Now it is Time to Pamper Me!

I lined up all my favorite candles around the bathroom, and open a cool bottle of wine, get my wineglass and take it into the bathroom.

Then I light my favorite candles, turn on the hot water, pour in my favorite oils and bubble bath crystals, and pin my hair up---then I feel sinful as I stepped into my own passionate bliss, while slowing sinking down into the hot water and bath oils----my skin is so thirsty to drink of its pleasures.

And ever so slowly the stress and tension of the day’s past-- start to disappear-- as if magic fingers of a Greek God was rubbing and massaging all the kinks and knots outs, bringing a smile to my relaxed face. One can dream!

I stay in my own piece of Paradise, until the water gets icy, then I rinse off in hot water, followed by cold water to close the pours of my body. Then I moisturized my body all over--before I put on my robe.

Afterwards, I will get a good book and lie on my bed or recline in my recliner and read or take a nap, whichever comes first.

By that time--- everyone and everything is passed out and sleeping in our home--- and I promise myself to think about it tomorrow----to decide if it is worth it year after year to go through the same tiring rituals.

And just before I closed my eyes I know I would do it again for as long as I can for my family.

And as long as my Greek God stays young enough to massage the stress away, I can stare the future Holidays in the face and smile. These are my last thoughts as I slowing drifted into slumber land. (We pamper and spoil ourselves into a passionate bliss in the country back roads of life. All women are worth everything their hearts desires.)

4seasons,

Thank you for stopping by and for your comment. Yes, we as women deserve to pamper ourselves--because we work hard in this life, and we are the best.

Thanks,

Bobbi

Thank you for reminding me....haven't done this in a while. I've got the candles, the bubblebath, the soft music...now I have to make the time. There is something about a good, hot soak that a shower cannot compete with. Thank you PurvisBobbi44 - voted up!

Audrey,

Sometimes, I have to shut the world out---and take a bubble bath, and soak, and read a good book. Until, the water get icy and I look like a prune, then I make myself come out of my bliss.

Thanks for reading my hub and for your comment.

I love baths and never take the time to take one and really soak--I guess that maybe I could find the time during March Madness while my hubby watches BBall

Great relaxing hub. The first days of a new year are always so good and fresh. I am a southern girl too having my heart blessed all my life. Let's hope it really is. Women do deserve some special time after all we put into holidays. I think most men really have no idea.

Barbara Purvis Hunter (author) from Florida on January 04, 2012:

CMerritt,

Thank you for taking time to read my hub. I hope all women can relate to it. As for men--when it was football season my Daddy enjoyed all the games, and his three daughters made sure he did by leaving the livingroom to him and his friends. Have a great day.

Now that is some real writing!! I will have to show this one to my wife....I'm sure she will concur...

Now for us men, the just being able to watch the NFL without interuption is all the bliss I need.

I vote you up and across the board Bobbi.
