Afro Texture Hair is Beautiful
Afro textured hair is unique and a gift from the Heavenly Father. Our hair can be worn in an array of styles. Afro-textured hair is high maintenance this is true, our hair has to be treated in a gentle manner. Afro hair is special, needs moisture, and grows best when left in a protective style.
Black people buy hair products very often because our hair gets dry often, our hair needs water and oils. It would be beneficial to buy the hair products that have natural ingredients such as, herbal extracts, tea tree oil, and fruit extracts.
There are African American hair care products out there that can keep moisture in the hair. If there are any hair products that are good for your hair continue using those products. Also, braidout hairstyles make Afro hair grow longer and stronger, especially when the ends of the hair is moisturized every day. We know the shampoos that make our hair feel softer, and we know the ones that make our hair feel stripped of all its moisture.
African Americans' hair is unique and different; we should take care of it differently as well. It's not about going by the media's influence, of telling us what to use in our hair. It's time to be true to our authentic nature which is our natural hair.
Many women don't wear their natural hair because they say they don't know how it will look. Natural hair will look the way it did before getting the perm, your hair will look like it did when you were a little girl; longer, stronger, and healthier hair.
There are many styles you can wear with natural hair:
- Tree Braids
- Kinky Twists
- Bantu Knots
- Individual extension braids
- Crochet Braids
- Hot combed (straightened)
- and more. . . .
Benefits of Wearing Natural Hair
- Self-love and appreciation
- Rock'n your natural hair keeps moisture longer and chemical perms don't.
- Less split-ins with natural hair, more split ends with permed hair.
- No more dry and itchy scalp with your natural hair. Perms keep your scalp and hair; dehydrated, dry, brittle, itchy, and irritated.
- Wearing your natural hair doesn't cause scabs or alopecia, but perms cause: scabs, soars, burns, and alopecia.
Going natural is a huge step to take, and we can take it together. Some African Americans may not want to stop perming their hair. But I'm sure they will change their minds after knowing the benefits of wearing their natural hair; makes hair thicker, longer, and healthier.
With going natural our hair doesn't have to risk breakage, scalp burn, or alopecia. Take care of your hair and it will take care of you.

Hi La Toya, that's the right, and natural kinky hair is the most dominant hair type. There are many individuals that will keep their natural hair, and never go back to perms. Thanks

Natural is best, but without making it easy to care for natural styles, some women get frustrated.
