JESUS TATTOO VARIATIONS
There may never be a more powerful and meaningful tattoo then the Jesus tattoo. Some people feel that getting Jesus inked on their body is the greatest way to show their love and faith for Christianity. Jesus tattoos are usually very detailed and they can be quite graphic to some. Jesus tattoos are deemed as an appropriate tattoo for Christians. The Jesus tattoo can come in a variety of different designs and styles. Jesus tattoo designs may portray Jesus alone or with crosses, angels, cherubs, rosary beads, or praying hands.
Everyone has different views and feelings when it comes to religion. Jesus is the son of God and the son of Mary. Jesus walked around, from town to town, and preached God's message. Jesus had special powers that God had gave to him. He could heal the blind to see again. He could heal the sick to be in good health. Nobody on earth could come close to representing who Jesus was and his love for man. Jesus chose to give his own life so man could be forgiven for their sins. Jesus being portrayed on the cross has been inspiration for a variety of different art. That last image of his last seconds of life is a reminder that he gave his life for you and I.
Jesus has been an inspiration for artist for centuries. You can find a variety of paintings and artwork that portray Jesus. Just as Jesus is painted on a canvas, Jesus can also be tattooed. Jesus tattoos are a popular tattoo choice for Christians, but also for many different types of people. Not only are Jesus tattoos inked to symbolize one's faith, they are also tattooed to represent inspiration and hope. Jesus was a powerful man and he brought hope and inspiration to nearly everyone he met. Even today, we can find inspiration within Jesus.
As you read above, Jesus tattoos can be designed in a variety of different ways. One of the most popular variations of Jesus tattoo designs portrays the head of Jesus. This tattoo design often portrays the crown of thorns on his head. Seeing Jesus with the crown of thorns is an instant reminder of the pain he inhabited on the cross. Jesus tattoo designs can be graphic in nature, perhaps showing blood and bruises. Some Jesus tattoo designs will portray Jesus in his natural beauty. Some tattoo designs will show Jesus as if he was looking into the sky, while others may portray him in some other posture. Make sure you take the time to view the tattoo gallery on the page so you are able to see how Jesus is portrayed in the tattoos.
Another popular Jesus tattoo design portrays Jesus on the cross. Just like in the tattoo world, Jesus on the cross has been the inspiration for artwork for many years. This tattoo portrays the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. This Jesus tattoo design portrays Jesus hanging on a cross. Once again, this tattoo variation can be graphic. Some people choose to keep the design clean, without blood, cuts, or bruises. You may want to choose a wooden cross for your design or perhaps a Celtic cross. In the end, it is your tattoo.
Jesus tattoo designs may also include different symbols or Biblical characters. You may see tattoo designs that portray Jesus and Mary or Jesus with fellow Jews. One popular symbol that is often included in Jesus tattoos is the sacred heart. The sacred heart represents Jesus. The sacred heart is usually portrayed with an eternal flame. Crosses, angels, and wings can all be considered with Jesus tattoos.

Alocsin, always great to have you drop in. Yes, very well known. You do see that a lot. Both are very popular.
Aurelio Locsin from Orange County, CA on June 13, 2012:
This is a fairly obvious tattoo and so is its meaning. But I've more commonly seen the name "Jesus" or just the cross as a tattoo rather than the figure itself. Voting this Up and Beautiful.
Richard Ricky Hale (author) from West Virginia on June 12, 2012:
*SGE, thanks for taking the time to drop by. Strong points my friend. If you have that strong faith, you can't go wrong with a Jesus tattoo.
*Frank, lol:) I didn't say that did I? Always a joy to hear from you pal. Best wishes.
*Alastar, glad you came by. Good point. I would agree. A lot of people do get this tattoo, not always for the right reasons. Totally understand your view on this and I agree.
*Gypsy, nice to hear from you. That is a true point. However, it is viewed as a level of respect and love by many. Some feel that this is a great way to express their faith. For that, I couldn't disagree.
*Kash, appreciate the visit. You are right, so right on. That is another reason that I wouldn't get one because I am no saint, by a long stretch. If I was, then I probably would. Just my level of respect for right and wrong.
*AE, great to have you drop by:) I do like this quote. So many people pass judgement on others and truth be told, only God judges me in the end. A saying that speaks truth, as a tattoo, permanently.
*Max, how ya doing pal? I can see your point, everyone's in fact. Are tattoos wrong? Are we worthy of such a tattoo? It brings up a good point because if someone wants this tattoo, it has to be considered.
*Rahul, glad to have you drop in. Thanks so much my friend. See, your a great example. I would view your symbolism in a correct manner for such a sacred tattoo to most. I see no issue with what you believe.
*Acaetnna, always a joy to have you come by. Glad you thought they were beautiful. Take care.

Nice hub my friend
BeyondMax from Sydney, Australia on June 10, 2012:
Very impressive, expressive and intense! But, yeah, I am also on the 'mixed feelings' team. It's kind of on a very personal level. Sort of. But beautiful indeed.
Ruby Jean Richert from Southern Illinois on June 09, 2012:
I especially liked the one that said " Only God can judge me " Beautiful..
Thomas Silvia from Massachusetts on June 09, 2012:
I love all the Jesus tattoos but i hate it when gang members have them for the wrong reasons .
Vote up and more !!!
Gypsy Rose Lee from Daytona Beach, Florida on June 09, 2012:
Another great hub Ricky. I agree this leaves me with mixed feelings. I don't think it's right to have a Jesus tattoo. However if it's right or wrong is up to the Lord Himself.
Alastar Packer from North Carolina on June 09, 2012:
To be honest about it i have mixed feelings on the Jesus tats. Seems to me one should only proceed with them after they've been a Christian for quite sometime and know beyond any reasonable doubt they always will be. Another unique hub in the series Ricky.
Frank Atanacio from Shelton on June 09, 2012:
this is a good chapter to your collection of tattoos and yeah Jesus does look like Kenny Loggins... :) thanks for the share my friend bless you..
Shining Irish Eyes from Upstate, New York on June 08, 2012:
The most important aspect to a Jesus tattoo or a faith tattoo - You will never have to worry about having it removed. It's the one constant in your life that will be there from beginning to end. I could never understand why some individuals would choose their significant others name or face. Unless that person left you by passing on, or discovered a cure for a life threatening disease, I wouldn't do it. Never gonna happen. If you are one of these people then YES - YES, I'M REFERRING TO YOU". LOL
Another fine write that caught my interest.
