Wow those are some really interesting facts. I had no idea urine was involved in the making of peroxide! I know that I am not brave enough to use urine and I don't even think I am brave enough to use peroxide anymore! Thanks for the read and for the info.

ptosis from Arizona on April 20, 2013:

I just found out something: DYK? Carbamide peroxide is also known as urea hydrogen peroxide. I just wiki'd it. Now the hydrogen peroxide from the drugstore is 3% - you know what you would have to do to make it Carbamide peroxide.........

ptosis from Arizona on April 20, 2013:

I'm bookmarking this hub! These natural whiteners are SO MUCH BETTER than the one I heard of (uh- never tried) which is urine!

Uh-huh, phosphorus is in urine, people use urine as a mouthrinse to whiten teeth.

Pierre Eustache C. from Haiti on April 19, 2013:

I admit that i completely ignored that banana can be used for that! Thanks for the information! By the way, using these techniques to often may still damage teeths. Baking soda is recommend for less than 3 uses weekly!

Tony Capon from Upminster, Essex, United Kingdom on February 05, 2013:

As I tried the soda powder cleansing method, I was a little sceptical, not expecting much. Before I started I graded the whiteness of my teeth (5 to 6). 12 minutes later I re-graded my teeth's whiteness (6 to 7, and more towards 7 than 6). The improvement was in the region of 12.5%. A much better result than I was expecting. I'm now looking forward to trying strawberries and soda method. Should taste nicer! Thanks Brittanie. Tony

Fierce Manson from Atlanta on February 03, 2013:

I learned some great tips here. I never knew strawberries could whiten your teeth. These are awesome and cheap ways to whiten teeth. Actually I had not ever heard of the banana peels, orange peels, or the cider. I have been using toothpaste which is supposed to whiten your teeth, and I have not noticed a difference yet even after using the toothpaste after months of use. Thanks for sharing voted up and useful!

Brittanie Anne (author) from Seattle WA on January 26, 2013:

These methods remove stains from teeth and enamel if the teeth are off white naturally there really isn't much you can do without a dentist. I list many options because there are that many available that I know about. This gives people a chance to find the one that works the best for them. I personally use the strawberry rub and vinegar rinse those are the two that work best for me.

Marco Piazzalunga from Presezzo, Italy on January 26, 2013:

I think that there are too many ways to whiten teeth. Maybe that means you are not very sure which is the right one? Have tried several times with the baking soda, but I can not see any improvement to the yellow color of my teeth. What if the yellow color of the enamel of the teeth? Could it be? any other suggestions?
