Cause of Acne

Acne is common for people with oily to sensitive skin. One of the major causes of acne is oil production and clogged pores. Another cause is the bacteria build-up. The dust and pollution settle on the upper surface of the skin. This leads to bacteria build-up and leads to acne or pimples.

People who tend to have oily skin secretes a lot of sebum and this clogs the pores. Low-quality makeup can also lead to acne and pimples.

Morning Routine for Acne-Prone skin

Your facial skin is very gentle and you need to take proper care of your skin. I will share my personalized morning skincare routine.

Steps are as follows:

Cleansing:

As soon as you wake up in the morning, you need to clean your face. The main motive is to wash away all the extra oil secreted from our glands but not to make our skin too dry as well. At the same time, dealing with bacteria and germs is also important. People with oily and acne skin should use gel or foam-based facewash. The facewash should contain the following items:

  1. Tea tree oil or neem
  2. Lemon extract

Tea tree oil or Neem- It has anti-bacterial properties and fights germs.

Lemon extract- It contains vitamin c which lightens the dark spots and blemishes.

You can use any facewash according to you keeping in mind the above tips.

Toning:

According to me, this is the most important step and should be unneglected at any cost.

Toners are extremely important to tighten your pores. After cleansing, the pores of the skin open, and the use of toner fills those pores and also prevents dirt to enter easily on your skin. Besides, all the remaining dirt on your face is removed by the toner.

It would be best if you use a tea tree or cucumber toners.

It would be best if you use a tea tree or cucumber toners.

I personally use Biotique Cucumber Water Toner. This did wonders on my skin.

How to Apply:

  • Take a cotton ball or pad. Pour some toner on the ball and gently cleanse your skin with it.
  • Repeat this step twice.

Moisturizing:

People with oily skin tend to neglect moisturizer as their skin is already too oily. I too use to do the same. But that somewhere damages the tissue of your skin. Lack of moisturizer leads to the accumulation of dead skin cells on your face. Toner being a watery liquid is absorbed by the skin, and moisturizer is needed to completely lock your pores.

I personally recommend aloe vera gel as a moisturizer for oily skin with acne.

How to Apply:

  • Take a little bit of aloe vera gel and 2 drops of water on your palm.
  • Rub it properly on your palms and then apply it on your face.

Sunscreen:

Using sunscreen is very important if you are going out. Sunscreen saves your skin from further damage and does not harm your pimples. Apply any sunscreen you want, but I would recommend going for the powder sunscreen rather than the cream one.

Bonus Tip 1

Don't use rose water (readymade) as a toner as it contains glycerin which is not good for acne and pimple at all. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, avoid using anything containing glycerin.

Face Pack:

On weekends you can go for a face mask after the cleansing step. Use any mask you like, keeping in mind the acne and oily skin. I would recommend sandalwood powder. Sandalwood is very good for skin and for acne as well. You can also apply the sandalwood powder mask on the targeted acne area only and wash it once it dries.

How to Apply:

  • Take one tablespoon of sandalwood powder and add 4 to 5 drops of water to it.
  • Make a thin paste and apply it on your face.
  • After twenty minutes wash your face with a mild face wash.

This mask will remove all the excess oil from your face making it a bit dry. Don't forget to apply a moisturizer after using it.

Avoid Scrubs:

People with acne should prevent using scrubs at any cost. The reason is that scrubs have minute particles that will burst your acne and pimple. The fluid coming out of the acne or pimples get mixed with your scrub. This will lead to the spreading of the fluid on your whole face, which will lead to more acne and pimples.

Bonus Tip 2

Don't use the peel-off masks, if you have acne (even one) on your face. This will burst your acne-causing pain and can leave a permanent spot on your face as well.

Conclusion

I earnestly hope you liked my morning skincare routine for acne-prone and oily skin. Please try these steps and let me know if this article helped you. Comment and let me know if you want the night skincare routine as well.
