My Own Acne Trauma
I know how dark spots from acne can be pathetic to look at, having suffered from such dark spots I have been in the same situation as many of you might be in. Yes, it makes your face look bad and it appears everyone is seeing your dark spots and nothing else. At times, it can be really frustrating too.
When I developed pimples, I took some allopathic medicines because I wanted them to get cured faster (and it really was expensive). However the pimples were gone after a few months but the bad news was to follow- they left dark spots on my face. I just hated seeing myself in mirror it looked so bad. My cheeks were filled with so many dark spots, I was in a mess and then the Holy Internet came to my rescue.
I tried using various home remedies and natural products to help myself get rid of acne dark spots and thankfully, after repeated usage I can now smile…my dark spots have turned lighter now and I am pretty sure that if I can continue with these natural remedies for a few more months, I can get my spotless face back.
But it needs to be added, if you are opting for natural remedies then you have to be patient- they take time to heal and in no way this sounds magical. I am hereby adding some of the best remedies for you if you are suffering from acne spots. Also a word of caution- what works for one person may not work for the other. This is basically dependent upon your skin type.
Natural Peel Kit
Getting rid of dark spots naturally:
Lemon Juice: Lemon juice is a natural bleaching agent. It is said to be rich in Vitamin C which is very effective in removing acne spots. You can gently massage your dark spots with the lemon peel, it might have a tingling sensation at first, but it helps. If done over a regular period of time you will see your dark spots getting lightened and ultimately fade away. Apart from this, you can mix 2 tablespoon of lemon juice, few drops of honey and rose water in a bowl. Just apply on the affected area and leave for fifteen minutes. Wash with water.
Glycolic Acid Peels: This acid peels works best for those who have severe acne spots on the face. The acid peels should not be used for those who slight dark spots. It is primarily a treatment where glycolic acid peel is applied on the face. This leads to the formation of new skin cells; the old layer of the face is replaced with a new layer. There are ‘at home peels’ too which are available and can be applied easily without any doctor’s assistance. Read about at home peels
Must Buy For Acne Spots
Flaxseed oil for dark spots: Flaxseed is regarded as quite effective on your skin. It brings a glow and shine to your face. You can even eat the flaxseeds though in small dosage. This is said to be quite rich in vitamin E and thereby improves the blood circulation and leads to healthy skin. You can even massage your face gently with vitamin E oil if flaxseed oil is not available.
Baking Soda for acne spots: Baking soda can be used as a scrub for your face. Simply make a fine paste with baking soda and water and massage on your face for a few seconds. Then wash with water and pat dry.
Aloe Vera for Acne: Well none can deny the benefits of aloe vera in treating acne. It is simply the best when it comes to removing skin rashes, skin irritation as well as blemishes. You just need to apply the aloe vera gel on the face. It helps in fading the dark spots.
Neem Leaves for Dark Spots: Neem leaves have been used since ages for treating and preventing acne and pimples. Just make a paste of neem leaves with turmeric and gramflour. You can wash after the paste has dried up.
5 Effective Tips for Dark Spots Removal

What worked for me:
When I suffered from dark spots caused by acne, I was a regular user of lemon juice as well as lemon peel. I always used to massage it on my face and it helped. Apart from this I also made a paste of turmeric, sandalwood, gramflour ,orange powder and rose water. This paste I used to apply daily on my face and when it was half dry I used to wash my face. Thankfully it not just removed my acne but it also made my complexion better too. As I said before what works for one person may not work for the other.

I have spent a lot of money in sephora looking for a miracle serum to get rid of my dark spots for the last 3 years, something changed and left me with nasty dark spots. Here's what actually worked for me: the Somaluxe Brightening Peptide Serum. Its meant to lighten the dark spots and this acually works. What i do is wash my face with a gentle glycolic wash (I use the Made from Earth Grapefruit Glycolic Wash), and then dry my face. Afterwards, I use the Somaluxe Brightening Peptide Serum in areas where I have my dark spots.
I used to use the Somaluxe toner, but I do not anymore. I do the routine I mentioned above twice per day now for the last week and I it's doing something and I'm super excited to keep seeing results. It works !
