Lisa Stover (author) from Pittsburgh PA on March 03, 2013:

Thank you! Fruits are great for your teeth, as odd as it sounds to rub them on. I've tried all of these methods and they all work really well.

Bradrick H. from Texas on March 03, 2013:

It's funny that you mentioned fruits in here. I recall watching a video last month on Youtube about how apples can help clean our teeth. Glad to see that mentioned in this article as well. Besides trying out whitening toothpastes, I've yet to try any of the other methods. I'm definitely going to look into giving a few of them a shot. Valuable information here. Voted up, and rated useful. Well done!

Thanks so much for reading and commenting Bake Like A Pro. I've heard good things about Chantix, I might have to look into that.

Bake Like a Pro on March 03, 2013:

Same here. I love my coffee and tea. You can't enjoy coffee with a straw. I heard from someone to immediately brush the teeth after drinking tea but who wants hot then cold on their teeth. I have tried the whitening toothpaste for many months but they made my teeth sensitive. As for quitting, what worked for me was Chantix which is a prescription. Forget the nicotine patches, they don't work for everyone. Good luck to you both. Great article, voted up and sharing :).

Lisa Stover (author) from Pittsburgh PA on March 02, 2013:

I love all of the bad stuff listed here, so I buy a lot of straws! I'm also trying to quit smoking, best of luck to us both.

Laura Tykarski from Pittsburgh PA on March 02, 2013:

I've tried several of the tips you have listed but I have two strikes against me I'm a coffee/tea drinker and I smoke (trying to quit ...sigh) I've always used peroxide mainly for any gum inflation etc.
