What Is Argan Oil Good For?
Lately, an increasing number of women have started to learn more about argan oil and all the benefits it can bring to their body and skin. Argan oil is currently found on the market in its natural state, but also as a component of a variety of beauty products. That’s why many of you have probably heard about argan oil and its benefits, but don’t know exactly what it is.
Well, argan oil is a plant oil, just like sunflower seed, coconut or olive oil. This type of oil is extracted from the kernels of the argan tree, which has originated in Morocco. While in this country is was initially used as a great nutrient source, argan oil is now widely used in Europe and North America not only for its culinary value, but also as a natural way to get healthier hair and skin.
Argan Oil has Vitamin E and unsaturated fatty acids in its composition, as well as squalene and sterolins. All these components are great in their own way. Some of them are known to have anti-tumorigenic properties, while others act as antioxidants, help reduce inflammation or fight the skin aging process.
As we mentioned before, argan oil is widely used as a beauty treatment for the skin, hair and nails, due to its many beneficial properties. For example, it can be used as a natural face and body moisturizer, due to the sterolins in its composition, which help the skin, retain more moisture and make it softer to the touch.
Other benefits include moisturizing and healing dry skin and cracked lips.
Is Argan Oil Good for Acne Prone Skin?
More than that, many people use argan oil in acne treatments. You might find this surprising, because oils are not usually recommended for oily, acne prone skin, but the truth is that no matter how oily your skin might me, you have to keep it hydrated. When the skin becomes too dry, the glands try to compensate for the dryness and secrete even more sebum, clogging your pores and causing acne. That’s one reason for using argan oil on your oily skin.
Many individuals with oily skin who suffer from acne, use argan oil because it has been proven to cut down sebum levels. The contents contained in the oil, like linoleic acid, help to reduce inflammation caused by acne. For a moisturizer effect place a few drops of the oil on the palm and dab it into the problem areas.
Another one is that this oil has be ability to regulate the production of sebum and bring a nice balance to your skin, thus preventing other breakouts. Argan oil is also ideal for those that have acne scars, because the Vitamin E in its composition stimulates skin regeneration and makes the skin softer.
