It's Time to Start Hoarding Bath and Body Works Holiday Scented Products

Jeannie has been writing online for over 10 years. She covers a wide variety of topics - hobbies, opinions, dating advice, and more!

Get Your Holiday Items Now!

It is the first weekend in November and it is that time again. For those of you that are fans of the holiday items at Bath and Body Works, it is time to go shopping. The worst thing you can do right now is wait the last minute. Typically, the favorite scents start flying out the door quickly in November. It is OK if you are not picky about which products you want, but if you are certain you need five tubes of Vanilla Bean Noel Triple Moisture Body Creams, make sure to go now!

There are many shoppers out there (including me) that love the holiday scents more than the scents that Bath and Body Works sells all year. I personally wear Pink Sugarplum all year. I use the shower gels, body creams, lotions, and body spray. I have now determined about 6 shower gels, 2 body creams, 1 lotion, and a small body spray will last an entire year. For this reason, I know to stock up now. Sure, I might be able to get some Pink Sugarplum products during the Semi-Annual Sale in January, but I can't take my chances. I know the shower gels probably won't exist by December unless I order online.

I am not saying you should have an unhealthy obsession with Bath and Body Works holiday products, but it does make sense to hoard some items away if you love them. I know Vanilla Bean Noel sells out very quickly, probably sooner than Pink Sugarplum. The Winter Candy Apple is also ridiculously popular with Bath and Body Works fans. Although these are great scents, they are not available all the time. Bath and Body Works execs have realized strategically releasing these products only in October through December will make them sell faster. There is almost a scented holiday product frenzy at this time of year.

Did Someone Say Coupons?

If you go shopping at Bath and Body Works right now, there is a 2012 Gift Guide available to all customers. The Gift Guide comes with a number of Bath and Body Works coupons you can use during the holiday shopping season. The coupons included are:

  • One free item of your choice with a purchase of $15 or more. (Expires November 18, 2012)
  • $10 off a purchase of $30 or more. (Good from November 19 - December 9, 2012)
  • Save 20% off your entire purchase. (Good from December 10 - 24, 2012)

Not only can you space out when you pick up your own Bath and Body Works products by using a coupon each visit, you can use these coupons to buy gifts for others. Bath and Body Works always has a wide assortment of gift sets that are really cute.

Did Someone Say Candles?

If you love Bath and Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel shower gels, lotions, body sprays, and other body products, then you will love the Vanilla Bean Noel candles. You can choose a variety of sizes and decorate your candles with cute candle holders. They are perfect Christmas gifts. You can apply the coupons to any of your candle purchases, too!

Some of the many candle holiday scents available at Bath and Body Works are:

  • Twisted Peppermint
  • Frosted Cranberry
  • 'Tis the Season
  • Fresh Balsam
  • Holiday
  • Thanksgiving
  • Vanilla Bean Noel
  • Cinnamon Frosting
  • Merry Cookie
  • Peppermint Mocha
  • Toffee Crunch
  • Spiced Apple Toddy
  • Merry Mistletoe
  • Sparkling Icicles
  • Twinkling Night
  • Winter Night
  • Frosted Gingerbread

My new favorite candle scents for this year are Cinnamon Frosting and 'Tis the Season. 'Tis the Season actually smells just like the Red Apple Wreath candle available at Yankee Candle. Considering sometimes the prices are better at Bath and Body Works, it might be a better buy for Red Apple Wreath fans to shop at Bath and Body Works this holiday season.

On a side note, the Thanksgiving candle unexpected does smell like a sweet version of Thanksgiving dinner. Oddly, once the candle is lit, it smells like Samoa Girl Scout Cookies. So if you are a fan of Samoa cookies or the smell of a Thanksgiving meal cooking, you should get the Bath and Body Works Thanksgiving candle this year.

Happy Holiday Shopping!

Even if my Bath and Body Works hoarding may seem a little extreme, at least I can say with great happiness that I will be smelling like Pink Sugarplum all next year. I also picked up some Vanilla Bean Noel products and I am considering trying Frosted Snowberry this year as well. Frosted Snowberry is by far to lightest holiday scent sold at Bath and Body Works this year. Anyone searching for a subtle scent will certainly enjoy it.

Make sure to sign up for Bath and Body Works emails so you know when the best sales are happening this holiday season. You can always use your coupons with the sale items, which makes shopping at Bath and Body Works a bargain. They sell the perfect holiday gift sets and amazing holiday scented items. So shop early and stress less this holiday season!

Jeannie Marie (author) from Baltimore, MD on January 01, 2013:

I was just looking at all my Bath & Body Works and Yankee Candle products. Those sales definitely turn me into a hoarder. I can't help it... the best scents are winter and fall scents. Who cares about the other seasons as far as scents go? I need to stock up now and use them for months. In September, there will be no hint of all that hoarding since everything should be used by then. Then the process begins again in October! Thanks for your comment and for the info!

Leah Wells-Marshburn from West Virginia on January 01, 2013:

Bath & Body Works turned me into a hoarder! I love their semi-annual sales. I just now stocked up on all the hand soap, shower gel, and wallflowers I will need for 2013. I look like an absolute hoarder when I do this, but paying $1.80 for hand soap and $2 for shower gel from BBW is less expensive than I can find it anywhere else during the rest of the year, and it smells great compared to the other stuff. They always have coupons on sites like RetailMeNot, and I always use my account (if you don't have an account, it's easy to sign can put in my email address as the referral, if you to get another discount. By the time I get finished, I end up getting their products dirt-cheap. Can't beat it!

Jeannie Marie (author) from Baltimore, MD on December 09, 2012:

I've been fighting the urge all week to use my latest coupon. I keep telling myself I must wait to see what Christmas gifts I get first and then go to the clearance sale in Jan. Must stay strong... must stay strong. :-) Thanks for checking out my hub!

Alecia Murphy from Wilmington, North Carolina on December 09, 2012:

I was in BBW Thursday and I swear I got high smelling all those awesome scents. Thankfully I controlled myself to get hand sanitizer for work and a present. Since then, I've passed twice and been able to withhold my urge even though they had the buy 2 get 1 free deals.

But I can't promise I'll have the same strong will after the holidays! Great hub :)!

Jeannie Marie (author) from Baltimore, MD on November 08, 2012:

Sometimes I just like to keep it real with my titles. ;-) Thanks for dropping by my hub!

ElleBee on November 08, 2012:

Love the title of the hub! I definitely like to hoard deliciously scented bath product.s

Jeannie Marie (author) from Baltimore, MD on November 08, 2012:

Thanks so much! I just took advantage of that sale myself. I love their candles.... maybe even better than Yankee Candle!

Deya Writes on November 07, 2012:

The BBW candles are sooo nice! I always get them when they have the 2 for $20.00 deal at my store. Really festive hub :)

Jeannie Marie (author) from Baltimore, MD on November 07, 2012:

Well it all works out then, Weekend Reader! I love shopping at Bath & Body Works for presents. Good luck on your quest! (P.S. They do sell bars of soap there, too!)

Cindy D Whipany on November 07, 2012:

I've never understood shower gels myself, but my otherwise-impossible-to-shop-for sister-in-law doesn't understand soaps, so I get to put some of this information to good use ...

Nicole A. Winter from Chicago, IL on November 06, 2012:

Interesting! I'm usually pretty careful about that, but there's a good chance the SO has been blowing it out too soon, so that's good to know... I always try to make my candles burn as evenly as possible and a big part of that is letting them burn off until the top layer is melted.

Jeannie Marie (author) from Baltimore, MD on November 06, 2012:

I've been doing OK with the 3 wick candles. I think you just have to make sure to burn them a while. The buildup happens if you light them and them blow them out before the top layer melts... or at least that is what I have noticed.

Nicole A. Winter from Chicago, IL on November 06, 2012:

Oh, it's phenomenal! Yeah, my SO doesn't care for "foody" scented candles, so it kind of knocks a lot outta the running for what we can buy. With the three-wick candles I've noticed there's a lot of buildup on the sides of the glass after awhile, it makes me nervous that eventually the glass is going to catch fire or break because of heat... have you noticed anything weird about them?

Jeannie Marie (author) from Baltimore, MD on November 06, 2012:

I was not a fan of the Autumn scented candle either. I prefer the apple scented or sweet smelling candles. I really wish there was a Pink Sugarplum candle, but for now, I will get have to be happy with the Vanilla Bean Noel candle. I have not tried the Chestnut and Clove candle yet. I will check that one out next time I go. Thanks for the suggestion!

Nicole A. Winter from Chicago, IL on November 06, 2012:

Buahaha! I'm a huge LUSH fan, myself, but the scented candles, (depending on which variety you get,) at B&BW are really a fantastic deal. When the Fall candles came out we got the one labeled AUTUMN, (my SO got to choose it,) nice three-wick dealio super long-lasting and smells, well, it smells awful. We're most of the way through it at this point, so when the holiday versions came out just recently, I learned my lesson and picked up two of the tiny candles on sale for five dollars, ($2.50 a piece,) one called WINTER, (yeah, I went ahead and bought the seasonal again, *laugh*) and the other WHITE BARN #2, Chestnut and Clove. I like both a lot and will probably purchase full-sized ones, (or at least bigger than these, slightly larger than tea candle versions,) of both. However, the Chestnut and Clove one? It's really divine.

Jeannie Marie (author) from Baltimore, MD on November 06, 2012:

Thanks so much! I am glad you liked it.

Ruchira from United States on November 05, 2012:

One of my favorite stores. Loved your review on it.

Jeannie Marie (author) from Baltimore, MD on November 05, 2012:

aethelthryth - Hahaha... I am glad I could bring back some happy memories. I am sure Black Friday shopping wasn't as horrifying back then either. It gets worse each year. Thanks for the comment!

randomcreative - In general, it seems like fall and winter scents are better for many products. I like candles better in the fall and winter, too. After all, I just don't care to light a candle that supposedly smells like the beach in the summer. It usually never smells the beach and who wants that anyway? Thanks for your comment!

Rose Clearfield from Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 05, 2012:

I agree that some of the holiday scents are the best! Thanks for all of the tips about stocking up and seeking coupons and sales.

aethelthryth from American Southwest on November 05, 2012:

This brought back a happy memory of when my friend introduced me to Black Friday shopping and the Juniper Breeze scent, about 15 years ago.

Jeannie Marie (author) from Baltimore, MD on November 05, 2012:

Thank you! I am glad you liked the hub.

Ryem from Maryland on November 04, 2012:

This hub is a great reminder. I love these holiday themed products!

Jeannie Marie (author) from Baltimore, MD on November 04, 2012:

Thanks so much for the vote up and the comment. You are right... everything has a holiday theme now. I was looking at my Halloween napkins tonight on my table and thinking I need to use them quickly so I can get Christmas napkins. :-)

nanderson500 from Seattle, WA on November 04, 2012:

It's fun seeing all the holiday-themed products that are out this time of year, from food to stuff like this! Another entertaining hub, voted up and awesome.

Jeannie Marie (author) from Baltimore, MD on November 04, 2012:

fpherj48 - I know what you mean... I find the more Bath and Body Works products I have, the more baths I take. Sometimes it is the only thing that helps after a long day at work. Thanks for the vote up and thanks for sharing my hub!

Diane Woodson - I use a combination of Bath and Body Works products and other less expensive products. I just love their shower gels so much... I can't seem to stop! :-) I do find that Target offers some reasonably priced beauty products. Thanks for your comment!

Jeannie Marie (author) from Baltimore, MD on November 04, 2012:

billybuc - Thanks for stopping by my hub. I am not so sure if this is technically a review or just an obsessed person crying out for help. I should write one painfully long review just about Pink Sugarplum and its awesomeness. I would understand if no one else read it though. Hehe.

Janine Huldie - Thanks so much for the vote up and for sharing. In the past, people used to give me enough gifts to last the year, too. Sadly, that is not the case with Pink Sugarplum. The more people give me , the more I use it. I just love it so much! I was hoping that scent came in a candle this year, but no such luck. Perhaps next year!

lovedoctor926 - I am doing well after the hurricane. It did not hit Baltimore too hard. Irene was much crueler to us, in my opinion. I know what you mean about pushy sales people. Recently the Bath and Body Works near me hired a delightfully flamboyant young man that I just love. He is so great that I do not mind being greeted by him. He could give the other sales people pointers at that store. Thank you for your comment and the vote up!

Pamela99 - Christmas shopping is so frustrating, but if I could do all of it at Bath and Body Works, life would be better. So many people say shower gift sets are too generic, but I disagree. I just love them and so many of my friends. Thanks for your comment!

lovedoctor926 - That is OK. It happens all the time. And my state was hit by the hurricane, too, so it all works out. Thanks again!

Diane Minton from Evansville, Indiana on November 04, 2012:

Their products are so out there awesome! I used to use them and loved the products, who are by the way created by Victoria's Secrets. I use target brand lotions and have to say the quality is just as good or better. I think we all pay way too much for these things. I use e.l.f. makeup instead of paying lots of money for the Mall dept store brands like I used to and my husband says I look wonderful, as long as well like it, I am happy! If you can affoird B and Beauty works by all means go for it.

Suzie from Carson City on November 04, 2012:

Oh dear....I don't even need coupons to be drawn to this place. Love all these products....because bath time for me is more like a "ceremony." Of course they make wonderful gifts....EVERYONE uses bath & body products, don't they?? Good hub Jeannie!! Up and shared

lovedoctor926 on November 04, 2012:

Sorry for spelling your name wrong. The hurricane sandy message was actually for Janine. I apologize for that. Your article was awesome by the way!

Pamela Oglesby from Sunny Florida on November 04, 2012:

I always do some of my Christmas shopping at Bath and Body Works. I love the choice of scents and the wide variety of gift items. Your hub covers this topic very well Jeannie. I am always excited about the coupons. Thanks.

lovedoctor926 on November 04, 2012:

Great hub Janine. I hope that you and your family are okay after Hurricane Sandy.

I love Bath and Body Works. I shop there all the time not only for their amazing shower gels and lotions, but for the candles as well. My favorite candles are the frosted cranberry and iced vanilla, My biggest pet peeve: I haven't even stepped foot inside the store yet and I'm already being harassed by pushy sales people and handed a huge dark blue bag. I have a no bag policy. They get you to buy three of their products and you get the next two free, but trust me, you do end up spending more. So I am a smart shopper now. Victoria Secret is another awesome store for shower gels and lotions. Voted up!

Janine Huldie from New York, New York on November 04, 2012:

Kind of ironic, but this is when I get my year's worth of soaps and creams, because everyone in the family usually ends up buying us some and end up having this supply last me for the year!! So I think you may be onto something Jeannie. Of course I have voted up and shared all over for you :)

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on November 04, 2012:

I hesitated reading this, because I'm not a bath kind of guy :) but I love candles, so I'm glad I stopped; besides that, I'm a Jeannie fan, so I had every reason to stop. Good job! Isn't this a review? Where are your stars?

Jeannie Marie (author) from Baltimore, MD on November 04, 2012:

Those coupons are all part of their evil plan to keep people coming back over and over again. So far, it is working. I even know the names of some of the sales people. Thanks for checking out my hub!

Shasta Matova from USA on November 04, 2012:

My daughter just loves Bath and Body Works. We just bought some stuff yesterday. Their new line, Red, is coming out this weekend, and it smells great. We now have coupons that will keep us coming back. I really like buying these items as backups for people you forgot and they make great stocking stuffers.
